Worldbex Services International, organizers of the Manila International Auto Show (MIAS), the country’s biggest annual motoring event has released the list of participating brands as the official countdown begins to the show which is slated to run April 3 to 6 at the World Trade Center in Pasay City.
Celebrating its 10th year anniversary, MIAS will once again use up the entire WTC complex including the adjacent Philippine Trade Training Center (PTTC). Unfortunately, because CAMPI is also slated to run their biennial Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS) around mid this year, there are some conspicuously absent brands from this year’s MIAS.
The list of participants in this year’s MIAS is as follows:
- AutoItalia
- Autohub Group of Companies
- BYD
- Chery
- Chevrolet
- Chrysler
- Dodge
- Dongfeng
- Ford
- Foton
- Great Wall Motors
- Honda
- Isuzu
- JAC Motors
- Jaguar
- Jeep
- Jinbei Auto
- Joylong
- Kia
- King Long
- Land Rover
- MAN
- Maserati
- Mercedes-Benz
- NAVECO
- MINI
- Mitsubishi
- Peugeot
- Subaru
- Tata Motors
- Toyota
- Volkswagen
Though the list is extensive in terms of brands, based on past MIAS, some featured brands will most likely be dealer displays only. These are the CAMPI brands: Honda, Isuzu, Kia, Mitsubishi, and Toyota.
In short, only Subaru, Ford, Peugeot, and Volkswagen as well as the Chinese brands will be supported straight on by their respective distributors. In fairness, Indian carmaker Tata Motors will hold their official brand launch at MIAS.
A source in the automotive industry (not connected with Worldbex) also pointed out that only three brands so far have elected to hold a launch program during the MIAS Press Day. This is likely: Ford, Subaru, and Tata.
That said, this year’s MIAS does now include several motorcycle brands: Harley-Davidson, Honda, Kawasaki, Kymco, Suzuki, and Yamaha.
its disappointing....... there should be an annual auto show where all brands are present so people can see them all together and just do it for the love of cars/vehicles. ofcourse we cant say they dont need to sell but come on do it for the people!
ReplyDeletewala pala ang mazda sa MIAS...how sad. but then, we must have a unifed auto show where all (as in ALL) car brands available in PH market must be participating in this kind of event, para naman may unity ang bawat car brands dito sa Pinas
ReplyDeletesir Ulysses, yung 2014 All New Honda City andito kaya sa MIAS? and when will be launch here?
ReplyDeletethank you!
I doubt it. Read the print...Honda will be at MIAS but will be a dealer display.
DeleteSir what do you think about the 2014 mazda 3? I thought it will be introduce this MIAS.
ReplyDeleteDoubt it (again). We've heard the Mazda 3 is coming out in May. Expect a huge event then.
DeleteMy opinion on the all-new Mazda3? Certainly looks good. Supposed to drive very well too. Unfortunately, it's not selling as well as it should in other markets.
DeleteSir any info on the CC category of motorcycle? Any 400 & up for Honda & Yamaha?
