Mitsubishi Motors Corporation has announced that it has begun the sale of its Mirage sub-compact hatchback in the Thai market. The very same car is made at a brand-new factory in Mitsubishi Motors Thailand's (MMTh) Laem Chabang Plant which is the
largest Mitsubishi plant outside of Japan. According to Mitsubishi Motors Corporation, the global Mirage will be sold initially in Thailand followed by the rest of ASEAN (Philippines will definitely be a part), Japan and then Europe.
In Thailand, the Mirage is powered by a 1.2-liter engine with Mitsubishi's MIVEC technology enabling it to return up to 22 km/L. Mitsubishi aims to sell 2,500 units of the Mirage in Thailand alone per month with a price ranging from THB 380,000 to THB 551,000.
