Toyota 86 PHL Prices to Top P 1.9M - Top Gear Philippines

Top Gear Philippines has unveiled what seems to be the introductory prices of the upcoming Toyota 86 sports car. And true to the 86's form, it's actually quite affordable. According to Top Gear Philippines, the Toyota 86 will be available in the Philippines in three variants: one in MT and two in AT.

Though the official launch is still on June 18, Top Gear Philippines has reported that the Toyota 86 will have the following pricing: P 1.550-M for the 2.0 MT, P 1.565-M for the 2.0 MT White Pearl, P 1.650-M for the 2.0 AT, P 1.665-M for the 2.0 AT White Pearl, P 1.860-M for the 2.0 AT Aero, and P 1.875-M for the 2.0 AT Aero White Pearl.

After more digging online, several Toyota dealers are already pre-selling the 86. And it's revealed that despite the affordable price tag, they will be equipped reasonably well with the following standard equipment:

  • 16-inch alloy with 205/55 R 16 tires
  • Manual-leveling halogen headlights
  • Power retractable side view mirrors
  • Tilt/telescopic leather steering wheel
  • Dual zone climate control
  • Touch-screen DVD/VCD/CD/MP3 audio system with USB and Aux-In
  • Bluetooth hands-free phone kit
  • Vehicle Stability Control (VSC)
  • Traction Control (TRC)
  • 7 airbags
  • Front and rear fog lamps
  • Cruise control (for AT variant)

Meanwhile, the 2.0 AT Aero, aside from getting the aforementioned aero kit, also receives the following upgrades:

  • 17-inch alloys with 215/45 R 17 tires
  • Auto-leveling HID with LED day-time running lights
  • Black/red leather-fabric combination seats
  • Front seat warmers
  • Keyless engine start/stop

    Kinda overpriced considering the facelifted Gencoupe 2.0T puts out 274HP. Yeah, sure, it's all about the "handling" and "driving experience". Heck, even replacing the Prius-level tires (214/45R17) with something wider and larger would negatively affect the balance of thsi car??? :P

    Guys, toyota 86 has a opposing Subaru engine. Have u guys tried the subaru impressa, STI tuned? That's a whopping 300PS with a 40Kg torque. No test drive for stick shift though, unless ur a friend of the subaru bigwigs. if you go for AT, please check the figures on powertrain transfer lag. Ratio itself is good but I'm concerned on lag. This is what they successfully solved on Nissan GTR.
