Subaru is on a hot streak in the Philippines.
After launching their all-new XV compact crossover at the 8th Manila
International Auto Show (MIAS) last April, orders have steadily come in. In
fact, thanks largely to the overwhelming success of the XV as well as the
Forester, the brand is heading towards another record year in terms of sales.
And they haven’t stopped to take a breather just yet.

All-New
Subaru Impreza
Motor Image Pilipinas has finally taken the
wraps off the much-awaited all-new 2013 Impreza with a soft launch that
happened just a couple of weeks ago at the Subaru Greenhills showroom. Mr. Mike
Luyun, Motor Image Pilipinas’s new General Manager was personally there to talk
about Subaru’s newest offering in the Philippine market.
Remaining the same size as the previous
model, the all-new Impreza has a longer wheelbase and improved packaging for
better interior room, especially for the rear occupants. With heavy emphasis to
make it the most fuel-efficient all-wheel drive car, the Impreza is lighter
than the model it replaces and uses a choice between a 6-speed manual and
Lineartronic CVT. Under the hood is Subaru’s new-generation boxer engine shared
with the XV. With power figures remaining steady at 150 horsepower and 196 Nm
of torque, this new engine allows for quicker acceleration times while allowing
the Impreza to reach up to 15 km/l in certain conditions.
There will be only one body style
available: a 4-door sedan to differentiate it with the XV. However, there are
two variants available for the all-new Impreza: 2.0i 6-speed MT (P 1,158,000)
and the 2.0 i-S CVT (P 1,299,000). Standard features on both models include
front and rear fog lamps, 16-inch alloys, six airbags, anti-lock brakes,
electronic stability control, automatic climate control, steering wheel
controls, and aux-in and USB input with Bluetooth hands-free connectivity. The
2.0 i-S ups the package by adding 17-inch alloys, dual climate control, leather
seats, moon roof, and a rear parking camera.
The all-new 2013 Subaru Impreza is now
available for viewing at all Subaru dealerships nationwide.

holding the car. The Subaru Impreza Challenge is slated on Saturday, August 11
at the Bonifacio Activity Area in Bonifacio
Global City,
Taguig.
If you think you have the physical and
mental stamina to win an all-new Impreza, all it takes is to fill up the
application form and show up to take on the Subaru Impreza Challenge along with
the other participants. The application form and instructions on how to join is
available on:
just a warning for imprezas with at least a 1" drop - you'll have to go very slow entering the service bay down ramp so you won't hit the floor. on exiting, when you reach the top part, do a "siete" so your skirts won't rub on the cement. i learned this the hard way.
