Ford Mustang Launching July 18
Finally, after years of speculation and waiting, the Ford Mustang is ready to prowl the streets of Manila. Mark your calendars as Wednesday, July 18 is the day that Ford Group Philippines is set to unveil the iconic muscle car.
Speculations point towards two available variants of the Ford Mustang, and some media outlets have reported that the range-topping 5.0-liter V8 version will bow in at P 2.6-million. This easily makes the Mustang the most powerful car for the buck.
Will this hold true? Follow us on Twitter as we give you a blow-by-blow coverage of the launch of this icon, and set if it's got the specs (and the price) to battle the likes of the Hyundai Genesis Coupe and the Toyota 86.
UPDATE: Our Twitter coverage starts at 5PM.
Typical American muscle car, fast (and thirsty), but can't turn. :P Still using that primitive non-independent rigid live axle rear suspension.

About being thirsty...
2013 Mustang GT AT (420hp 5.0 liter V8) Fuel Economy figures:
City: 18mpg, Highway: 25mpg
2012 Nissan 370Z AT (332hp 3.7 liter V6) Fuel Economy figures:
City: 19mpg, Highway: 26mpg
Only down by 1mpg, not bad for a much larger V8 engine.

Ford Edsa Greenhills just posted the 2013 Mustang prices on their FB page.
ReplyDeleteThe V8 model is priced at Php2,899,000, while the V6 model is priced at Php2,499,000.

Will Chevrolet Philippines decrease the price of the Camaro SS and RS to compete with the Mustang? Because I like the Camaro design much better. The V6 model is priced at 3.2 M while the V8 is price at 4.2 M, Large sum amount of difference for cars at the same category.
ReplyDeleteI was wondering the same thing too... but then again the success of the Explorer hasn't forced them to lower the price of their slower selling Traverse crossover SUV.
DeleteLike the Mustang and Camaro, the Explorer and Traverse are priced similarly in the US, but here the Chevy is much much more expensive.
