The Car Awards Group Inc. (CAGI) officially designated Eton Centris as the official Launch and Testing Venue of the 2012-2013 Car of the Year Awards.

This was announced by CAGI president Ferman Lao during the turnover of the symbolic Eton Centris key to the organization, which has more than 50 motoring journalists from various publications and media entities in the country, early this week at the said venue at the corner of EDSA and Quezon Boulevard in Quezon City.

“We are happy to announce that Eton Centris is now the official venue of the COTY Launch on September 21 and the COTY Testing starting on September 29. The venue is very accessible to all the participating members of CAGI since it is situated right at the emerging central business district of Quezon City,” said Lao, who accepted the symbolic key together with the other members of the CAGI board of officers from the top officials of Eton Centris headed by SVP for Business Development Rhoel Alberto Nolido.

Other Eton Centris officials present included: Vice President for Marketing Erwin de Pedro; Assistant Vice President for Property Management Louella Caridad; Building Manager Mel Silvestre and Marketing Communications Manager Joyce Dayrit.

Also present from CAGI were: Andy Sevilla, External Vice President; Bam Olivares, Internal Vice President; Treasurer Bess Zamora; and Secretary Chris Kho.

The Official Launch of the annual event (which is now on its ninth edition) will be held at the Centris Walk where the officials and representatives of all the participating car companies are invited together with the CAGI members.

This year, there will be nine Saturdays of Testing that will start on September 21. All participating cars will be accommodated right at the very spacious parking lot of the Centris Walk. CAGI members will test (qualitative) the participating cars that were launched from October 2011 up to October of this year in and around the vicinity of the venue. Various category awards are up for grabs, with the vehicle having the most number of points from the participating CAGI member-testers going home with the Car of the Year Award.
