The aggressive facia features an arrow-shaped headlights (projector-type on the higher models) as well as the new "split grille" look with chrome slats. The front bumper also features a trapezoidal opening with a black insert for a sportier look. At the side, the all-new Vios features a small aerodynamic fin on its side mirror to cut wind noise, especially during high speed driving. The side profile is free from any protector or molding, emphasizing the Vios's "tall boy" look and this may be remedied by upgrading from the standard 15-inch alloy wheels. At the back, the rear tail lamps feature a dramatic new shape, also with integrated aerodynamic fins. Higher models feature a chrome trim running across the entire backside.

Inside, the Toyota Vios shuns the central-mounted instrument cluster for a more traditional layout. The deep, three-binnacle cluster is sporty with a highly legible cluster and one of the largest fuel gauge in a passenger car ever. The flat-bottom steering wheel remains and even has steering wheel controls on the higher-trim models. Other features include a new integrated audio system with USB and auxiliary audio inputs as well as an automatic climate control system. The interior may look to feature the same leather stitching design found in the Camry, but sadly, in the Vios, it's hard to the touch and merely simulates leather stitching (it's made of plastic).

Underneath, the Toyota Vios doesn't change. It's still sitting on the same proven platform with a 2,500-mm wheelbase (though length and height have been increased with the width staying the same). As of launch, the Vios features the same 1NZ-FE 1.5-liter 4-cylinder engine with 107 horsepower mated to a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic (which happens to retain its gated shifter). 

Though Toyota Motor Philippines hasn't said anything about the Vios's launch details, automotive website Autoindustriya.com reports that the all-new Vios will still be produced at Toyota's Sta. Rosa, Laguna plant.
