Petron Lakbay Alalay Backs "Paoay Kumakaway!" Tourism Campaign
For the whole month of May, Petron’s landmark motorist assistance program, Lakbay Alalay, is helping the Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte’s (PGIN) tourism campaign, billed as Paoay Kumaway!, now on its second year of implementation.
Displayed in key Petron stations along North Luzon Express Way (NLEX) southbound lane in Balagtas, Bulacan, northbound lane in Marilao, Bulacan and Lakeshore, South Luzon Express Way (SLEX) southbound lane San Pedro, Laguna, and EDSA Cubao Area are 1.5m x 5m road safety banners and streamers.
The campaign, which runs for the whole month of May, aims to communicate the importance of motorists' safety awareness while featuring iconic destinations and activities in Ilocos Norte. This is in response to an upsurge in domestic movement due to several Lakbay Alalay activities and corporate functions by various groups from across the country that have lined the roads to Ilocos Norte with north and south bound motorists.
“While the province is handling numerous tourism-related accounts, still the tourist surge is mainly due to free independent travelers who came in individually or in peers or families vacationing with a self-booked itinerary,” said Xavier Ruiz of the Provincial Tourism Office (PTO).
Ilocos Norte has been a preferred tourist destination for accessibility, rich cultural and historical heritage and diverse activities such as water and sand sports, nature-based adventures, and now with new attractions such as beach parties and special events.
With complementing streamers also being made visible in various parts of Ilocos Norte, this partnership between Ilocos Norte and Petron showcases the tourism campaign in a joint endeavor designed to make travelers more safety-conscious to ensure worry-free travel and at the same time promote the tourist spots in Ilocos Norte.
This innovative motorist assistance program is anticipated to inspire more exciting campaigns and to make travelling convenient and stress-free for motorists coming to visit popular tourist destinations in the Province such as the Kapurpurawan Rock Formation in Burgos, the Malacañang of the North in Paoay and the newly-refurbished Ferdinand E. Marcos Presidential Center in Batac City.
