Peugeot 3008: Setting Benchmarks in Design, Fuel Efficiency, and Earth-Friendliness; Eco Fun Run Set

The Peugeot 3008 is a compact, spacious and responsible crossover. It represents a new and innovative offer, not only in the Peugeot range but also in today’s car market as a whole. Manufactured in Eastern France at Peugeot’s Sochaux manufacturing plant, its concept and specification has draw on all of Peugeot’s expertise and values.

The 3008 is positioned at the crossroads between several existing vehicles: the SUV, the MPV and hatchback. The car derives its strengths from this blend of motoring concepts while at the same adopting a number of new and original technologies enabling it to combine specifications often deemed incompatible (driving pleasure inside a “tall” vehicle, improved traction while at the same time being eco-friendly, etc.).
Through its non-conformist approach and its resolute styling, the 3008, designed as a pioneering vehicle, offers an original solution and optimal versatility to customers in search of modernity, practicality, peace of mind and driving pleasure.

Protective, versatile and status-enhancing, the Peugeot 3008, a crossover in all respects, opens up new motoring horizons.

Enhanced fuel efficiency and earth-friendliness

Eurobrands Distributor Inc. (EDI), official importer and distributor of Peugeot vehicles in the Philippines, proudly positions the 3008 as its most versatile yet most fuel-efficient and environmentally responsible model. Not only does the 3008 marry all of the best attributes of an SUV, an MPV and a hatchback in a single package, thanks to its highly efficient mix of powerplants (1.6 and 2.0 litre HDi fitted with a Diesel Particulate Filter) it also comes out on top in terms of fuel economy and earth-friendliness.

Because Peugeot HDi (High-pressure Direct Injection) cars use around 30% to 50% less fuel, they release 30% to 50% less CO2 than an equivalent turbo petrol car. This helps to reduce the carbon footprint of the vehicle and also means better fuel economy, which translates to fuel cost savings for the driver. And because of its impressive fuel economy, the vehicle doesn’t have to be pumped often, saving the driver time.

Also, Peugeot HDi diesel engines trap diesel particles using a technologically-advanced filter called DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter). This technology helps to reduce pollution by 99.9%, and automatically burns off the trapped particles left in the exhaust system.

The materials used to produce Peugeot vehicles are up to 90% recyclable. All these efforts contribute to making Peugeot vehicles among the most environmental-friendly vehicles on the planet. This means drivers can rest easy at night with a clear conscience, knowing that the vehicles they drive every day have a minimal impact on the environment.

The Peugeot Eco Fun Run

The Peugeot 3008’s fuel-efficiency will be put to the test by no less than 10 media outfits on Thursday, June 27 as EDI stages the Peugeot Eco Fun Run. EDI has invited 10 media participants to drive the 1.6L e-HDi Peugeot 3008 variants from Alabang to Batangas and back in normal driving conditions – meaning with the vehicles’ airconditioners turned on and well above the speed limit. With Peugeot’s leadership in diesel technology, EDI officials are confident that the media can come up with significantly good fuel economy numbers. Initial tests done by EDI indicate that an e-HDi equipped vehicle can run up to 20 km/l despite the absence of fuel-saving techniques.

“We are confident about our vehicles and their fuel-saving capabilities. The Peugeot 3008 in particular, has given us good numbers since we brought the units in. Even heavy-footed drivers can drive up to 14 km/l in mixed city and highway driving while using the 3008 – using diesel fuel at that. Given tips on how to properly drive the vehicles, anyone can improve on that number and take it up to the 20 km/l range. The Peugeot Eco Fun Run will only prove to many what we at EDI already know – and that is that we have some of the most fuel-efficient vehicles not just in the country, but the world over,” said Dong Magsajo, Marketing & Communications Director of EDI.

The Peugeot Eco Fun Run was made possible with the support of Total Philippines, Skyway O&M Corporation, Sofitel Hotel and Acacia Hotel.
