Led by the continued strength in demand for the class-defining all-new Ranger pickup, Ford Philippines today reported its best-ever June performance with overall retail sales surging 112 percent year-over-year to 1,245 units.
The exceptional month wrapped up a record first-half for Ford in the Philippines with overall retail sales increasing 87 percent from the same period last year to 6,261 vehicles – making Ford the fastest growing automotive brand in the country this year.
“Exceptional response to our full lineup of segment-leading Ford vehicles is helping drive record sales,” said Kay Hart, managing director, Ford Philippines. “Our widest-ever range of Ford vehicles in the Philippines is helping introduce our brand to even more customer segments and is helping attract so many new-to-Ford customers.”
The all-new Ranger continues to be Ford’s best-selling nameplate in the Philippines and is driving the company’s momentum. In June, it delivered retail sales of 417 units – its second best-ever single month performance–and its year-to-date sales reaching a record 2,003 units for the January-June period.
Sales of Ford SUVs also contributed to the record first-half and June performances. Retail sales of the popular Ford Everest family SUV during the first half of the year have risen 175 percent to 1,265 units, including sales of 192 units in June.
Healthy demand is continuing for the all-new Ford Explorer, helping June retail sales more than double year-over-year to 115 units and bringing year-to-date customer deliveries to 460 units. The all-new Explorer has raised the bar on customer benefits with a modern, capable and fuel-efficient mid-size SUV.
The Ford Escape small SUV supported the record first-half with retail sales increasing nearly 15 percent from a year ago to 640 units, including June retail sales that more than tripled year-over-year to 133 units.
The segment-leading Ford Fiesta delivered June retail sales that rose more than 14 percent from a year ago to 282 units, representing its best month of the year.
With the upcoming launch of the new Ford Fiesta later this month, Ford this week kicked-off an interactive pre-launch campaign -- ‘24 Hour Fiesta Project’ -- designed to engage young and connected Filipinos by matching their personalities, lifestyles and tastes with the new Ford Fiesta.
“The new Fiesta offers exactly what our young and trendy customers are looking for today in a small car– expressive, fun, smart, and with class-leading fuel economy,” said Hart. “With the new Fiesta arriving in our showrooms next month, we’re confident it will continue to increase in popularity and connect with an even wider variety of lifestyles and personalities.”
Year-to-date sales of the technology-packed all-new Ford Focus have risen 51 percent from the previous generation Focus to 477 units.
The all-new Focus continues to attract many new-to-Ford customers with its segment-first smart technologies, including Active Park Assist, Active City Stop and Blind Spot Information System, as well as a class-leading safety package.
Ford delivered another 19 units of the iconic Mustang sports car in June with total sales since its introduction now reaching 246 units.
As sales across its product lineup continue to grow, Ford continues to build on its commitment to offering its customers accessibility through a wider network of nationwide coverage. In June, Ford celebrated the opening of Ford Manila Bay and Ford Bohol and is on track to expand its dealership network to 35 locations by year-end.
“The quality of our service and customer experience is equally as important as the quality of our Ford vehicles,” explained Hart. “As we continue to introduce more segment-leading cars and trucks in the Philippines, and our customer base continues to rapidly expand, we remain firmly committed to further enhancing our service to ensure that we’re providing the very best customer experience.”
Over the next six months, Ford plans to establish dealerships in Baguio, General Santos and Zamboanga.
