Lateral Drift Round 3 at the Clark International Speedway this Saturday, September 28!
After the action-packed Rounds 1 and 2 last month in Libis, the 2013 Hyundai Lateral Drift Championship is now set for Round 3 this coming September 28, 2013 at the Clark International Speedway in Clark, Pampanga.
Pilipinas Got Talent Season 4 Grand Finalist Gio Rodriguez of team ATOY Customs currently leads the Pro Division championship with 214 points after dominating the first two rounds of the season. He's followed by six-time champion Alex Perez of team Yellow Cab Drift with 161 points and lone female driver, Tin Tin David with 160 points.
The battle is also as tight, if not tighter, in the Amateur Division. The new breed of drifters are on a skill level so high that one would be hard pressed to even classify them as amateurs. Leading the championship standing is Rob Tan with 194 points, followed in 2nd by Ej Malibiran with 168 points, and Mark Bernardo in 3rd with 168 points.
Once again, Kimihiro Obata and Hiromi Kajikuma from Japan will be in the Philippines to judge the competition. They'll also give shotgun rides to some lucky fans using the official drift car of the Hyundai Lateral Drift Championship - the Hyundai Genesis Coupe.
Admission is free to spectators. Action will start at 8 o' clock in the morning for practice runs, followed by qualifying at 12 noon, and tandem runs that will stretch until 6 in the evening. Round 3 of the 2013 Hyundai Lateral Drift Championship will also be held in conjunction with the 0-400 Challenge that features Drag Races and Time Attack competition.
Don't miss high speed drifting at its best here in the Philippines on September 28, 2013 at the Clark International Speedway.
