Drift in the City: Lateral Drift Round 5 in Aseana City Slated on November 16
Last October 26 Round 4 of the Hyundai Lateral Drift Championships made history in drifting by being the biggest floor area and fastest drifted in Metro Manila since drifting started in the Philippines in 2006 by Lateral Drift Productions. This weekend as Round 5 of the 2013 Hyundai Lateral Drift Championship series takes off this Saturday, November 16, at the same venue at Aseana City along Roxas Boulevard. This is one fantastic venue to witness the sport of drifting.
This Saturday catch Pilipinas Got Talent Season 4 Finalist and championship leader Gio Rodriguez of Team Atoy Customs defend his hopes in being this year’s Champion against 6 time champion Alex Perez of Team Yellow Cab, 2011 champion Audel Sison of Team Autocraft Drift, Boodie Da Basol of Team GMW, and the only female drifter in this year’s series, Tintin David of Team GMW. Meanwhile, catch 15-year-old Luis Gono of team Motul Autoplus trail red tire smoke behind his Nissan 240SX in the Amateur Division.
Also catch Japanese judges Hiromi Kajikuma and Kimihiro Obata preform drift demos using the 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe. The Genesis Coupe is this the 2012-2013 Car of the Year Philippines’ Best Rear-Wheel-Drive Sportscar awarded by the Car Awards Group Inc.
Stance pilipinas will also be present at the event and have there car club aniversay event. They will collect donations for Yoland typoon victims. The donations will be drop off at GMA network.
Rain or shine, action will start this Saturday at 8pm for practice, 11am qualifying, 2pm amateur division tandems and finals, and 4pm Pro Division tandems and finals.
