BMW Cements Position as Top-Selling Luxury Car Maker in the Philippines, Lays Plans for 2014

At its Media Appreciation Night held atop the newest BMW dealership, Auto Allee in Eton Centris, Quezon City, Asian Carmakers Corporation (ACC), the official importer and distributor of BMW cars in the Philippines revealed that it closed 2013 with 653 units sold, solidifying its position as the country’s number one luxury carmaker with a 34-percent market share. This is BMW’s 11th year of leadership in the luxury segment.

“We at ACC are honored to celebrate another year of being number one in the Philippine luxury automotive market. It is with great pride that we can say that, over the years, we have gained the utmost trust and unwavering support of the Philippine luxury market, as seen by BMW’s continued market dominance for eleventh straight year.” said Maricar Parco, ACC President.

For the very first time, the BMW 3 Series wasn’t the brand’s most sold car in the Philippines. That honor goes to the 5 Series with a total of 213 units sold, accounting to 32.57 percent of BMW sales in the country. This is a 52 percent year-on-year growth for BMW’s mid-sized luxury car. The 3 Series still maintained its leadership in the compact luxury car segment while the BMW X3 is the best-selling luxury crossover of any size.

For 2014, BMW Philippines is aiming to bring in a host of new vehicles, showcasing the brand’s cutting-edge innovation and technology. Leading the pack is the 4 Series Coupe, which was also previewed at the Media Appreciation Night. This will soon be followed by the all-new BMW X5 as well as the all-new BMW M3 and M4.

As for events, BMW will travel around the Philippines with its BMW Roadshow to promote the brand in areas with far reach from dealerships. BMW also committed to doing another BMW Driving Experience this year.

“We at ACC are grateful for the support that the Philippine luxury market has shown us over the years.” said Parco “We hope that with everything we have in store for 2014, we are able to continue on with our commitment to the automotive industry and most especially to our most valued existing and future customers.”

  1. Top-Selling Luxury Car Maker in the Philippines. Really? I brought in a 2011 5-Series (less than 30,000 kms) 2 weeks ago for a misfiring cylinder. They told me that the problem is with a coil. No part available (neither did they have an air filter available on stock). They checked with Malaysia but they now need to check with Germany. Two weeks to look for a coil? How difficult is that? Last I heard Fedex and DHL have overnight service. And shouldn't a coil be readily available?

I then called BMW Phil HO last week. I was told that somebody from their HO will call me to address my issues. Four working days have passed and no call.

Yes; top selling luxury car but they probably rank bottom in terms of customer service. I was a fan of BMW but what's the point of having a 4 million peso car sitting in the shop and still waiting for BMW HO to give me a call. That's a FAIL.

    1. I totally agree with Mr. Jose. I have the same experience with my M3. Their after service really sucks.
