Hyundai Launches Long Wheelbase Santa Fe, Calls it Grand (w/ Complete Specs)

Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc. unveils the latest addition to its line-up. With the current Starex large van already garnering the prefix “Grand” due to its impressive size, Hyundai is doing the same with its popular and highly sought-after Santa Fe. For 2014, Hyundai is now officially offering the long wheelbase Santa Fe as the Grand Santa Fe.

With a body lengthened by 225 mm, the Grand Santa Fe is essentially the replacement to the luxurious but unpopular Veracruz. In order to make sure the Grand Santa Fe doesn’t suffer the same fate, it makes use of the Santa Fe’s trademark “Storm Edge” design making it look sporty and dynamic. With only one model on offer, the Grand Santa Fe sports LED rear combination lamps, 19-inch alloy wheels, and a dual muffler exhaust.

Inside, the Grand Santa Fe has a smart and luxurious interior with its two-tone interior appointments. The seats are covered in leather with the driver’s seat enjoying an integrated memory seat function. The second row seats are actually captain’s chairs which have sliding and reclining functions. The third row seats offer a 50/50 split-folding function offering 634 liters of luggage space—enough to accommodate two golf bags. In terms of luxury features, the Grand Santa Fe features a panoramic sun roof, a powered tailgate, as well as a 4.3-inch TFT LCD screen that also doubles as a rear parking camera.

Under the hood, the Grand Santa Fe shares the same engine as the short wheelbase Santa Fe: a 2.2-liter CRDi engine with 197 horsepower and 436 Nm of torque. The transmission is a 6-speed automatic.

The Hyundai Grand Santa Fe is available in 5 colors: Creamy White, Hyper Metallic Silver, Mystic Beige, Arabian Mocha, and Timeless Black. It retails for P 2,498,000.

    1. You are right! I think the 4x4 Ford Explorer cost 2.695M now. Even though, at 2.4M there are better choices than putting it in a Sta Fe.

  6. I was excited for this car to arrive but I am really disappointed...and I'm starting to hate local hyundai...in other countries they're known for giving more standard features compared to other brands...how can it be "grand" if it lacks certain features like premium audio and a wider screen?...and it doesnt have the v6 trim...Explorer limited+ would be a better choice...and ford is doing great by updating their cars every year...

  7. Too expensive for a Hyundai brand. It doesn't have the intimidating looks of Pajero, Ford Explorer or even the Mazda CX9.
