Lexus Adds F-Sport Model to RC Line
Lexus is adding yet another model in the RC Coupe line-up: the RC F-Sport. Sandwiching the regular RC and the performance-oriented RC F, the RC F-Sport features a unique “F” mesh grille as well as unique 19-inch alloy wheels with machine-finish and dark metallic paint. Inside, the RC F-Sport inherits the innovative LFA moving center ring instrument cluster and perforated leather on the steering wheel and shift knob. The RC F-Sport also gets an exclusive Rioja Red interior and seats with unique contrasting stitching.
As an F-Sport variant, the RC F-Sport receives Adaptive Variable Suspension or AVS. It sense vehicle body motion and the road surface condition and adjusts the performance of the dampers on all four corners. With the F-Sport’s Sport+ drive, the AVS changes to allow the driver to feel improved body control and precise responses to steering input.
Other suspension elements to the RC F-Sport include the Lexus four-wheel steering system called Lexus Dynamic Handling (LDH) system. This leading edge platform technology offers the integration of Dynamic Rear Steering (DRS) and Variable Gear Ratio Steering (VGRS).
The Lexus RC F-Sport comes fitted with the company’s 2GR-FSE engine. The 3.5-liter V6 is good for 306 horsepower and is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission.
