Mazda Hazumi Concept Points Clearly to All-New Mazda2
Mazda pulled the wraps off its newest concept car, the Hazumi at the 2014 Geneva International Motor Show and we like what we see. According to Mazda, the Hazumi is a “foreshadowing of Mazda’s next-generation subcompact car”—in other words, it’s the all-new Mazda2. Indeed, if there’s a car that deserves some of that KODO and Skyactiv love, it’s Mazda’s spunky little B-segment hatchback.
The Hazumi clearly features Mazda’s current family motif (KODO – Soul of Motion) with its large upright grille, sweeping headlights, slightly cab rearward design, and the downward-upward strokes on the doors. It looks fairly like a shrunken Mazda3, which in turn, is a shrunken Mazda6/CX-5. Still, there’s no denying it looks absolutely stunning.
The next piece of good news is a brand-new Skyactiv engine that sees action under the Hazumi’s hood: a 1.5-liter Skyactiv-D. Though no mechanical details were spilled at the Geneva Motor Show, the 1.5 Skyactiv-D joins the 2.2-liter Skyactiv-D as the second diesel-powered Skyactiv-equipped engine.
We'll gladly wait fot this one...
ReplyDeleteFor Philippines release, I think we'll be getting a 1.5 SkyActiv G (gasoline engine) which they have available for the Europe version of Mazda 3 and maybe a smaller 1.3 or 1.0 SkyActiv G. Still, I hope Mazda Philippines (Berjaya) proves me wrong and offers a SkyActiv-D...
