Subaru and STI Shakedown Nurburging 24-Hour Challenge Car (w/ Specs)
Subaru and its tuning division, Subaru Technica International (STI) has successfully shaken down its 2014 Nurburgring 24-Hour Endurance Race car in the lead up to the race which will be held at the grueling Nurburgring Circuit in Germany from June 19-22. This year marks the seventh consecutive year that Subaru and STI will participate at the event.
Using the all-new 2015 (our 2014) Subaru WRX STI, Subaru and STI hope for its third victory at the SP3T Class (the last being in 2012).
Born out of motorsports in 1992, the WRX has become famous for its sporty performance wrapped in a practical four-door body. And though the Subaru WRX STI NBR Challenge 2014 car employs special parts and is tuned for endurance racing, it uses the same core parts used in the production WRX STI. With the latest WRX STI’s participation, Subaru hopes to demonstrate the capabilities of their car at what Subaru calls the “ultimate public road”—the Nurburgring Circuit.
