Chevrolet Philippines Revises Captiva for 2014. Now with 400 Nm of Torque!
Chevrolet Philippines is once again readying an assault in the compact crossover market by revamping and re-introducing the Captiva for 2014. Headlined by revisions to its drivetrain as well as new features, Chevrolet is aiming to enlarge its share in this growing segment.
Powered a new 2.0-liter turbo diesel 4-cylinder engine, the Captiva generates a healthy 161 horsepower and a whopping 400 Nm of torque (enough to outgrunt the Forester XT) thanks to its new Variable Geometry Turbocharger. More than just delivering thrust, the engine is now mated to a new second-generation 6-speed automatic (GF6) with Driver Shift Control and ECO drive mode for better fuel economy. Other changes to the Captiva include a self-leveling rear suspension system which should make for improved handling when fully-loaded.
Outside, the 2014 Captiva sports revised front and rear bumpers. The rear bumpers, for instance, now integrate the dual exhaust tips (tipped in chrome). This is joined by new rear light clusters with LED brake lights. Upfront, the revised front bumper gives a sleeker look along with the new projector headlights. The Captiva still features front fog lights, 17-inch alloy wheels, and roof rails as standard equipment.
Inside, the Captiva features 7-seater capability or a 1,577-liter luggage space with second and third row seats folded. The 2014 model now sports Bluetooth hands-free telephony and music streaming. The Captiva also has dual climate control, steering wheel mounted controls for audio and A/C, among other luxury features.
The 2014 Captiva can be driven home with a reduced price: P 1,298,888 for the 4x2 A/T gas variant and P 1,398,888 for the 4x2 A/T diesel variant. Chevrolet is also offering the Captiva on a low all-in promo (P 128,000) from now until September 30, 2014. The Captiva now carries Chevrolet’s 5-year warranty and 3-year 24/7 roadside assistance.
Here we go again with the now you see, tomorrow you don't. Hmmm. When the fortuner went out, every body rushed to buy one, until they found out it got a harsher ride than the regular owner type jeep. But then, they sold their souls just to buy one. Then came tje montero allegedly sport, all nuts went to buy one, until they found out, in just barely six months, the mitsubishi quality shows its FAILURE mark. Then trailblazer, ohh that claimed hp torque, only to find out, its an overhyped truck. Next the mux of isuzu, oh really, isuzu you're still alive with a rebadged trailblazer but with a medieval crosswind engine on it? Really? And there's the everest with... ah no comment shit.
ReplyDeleteIf i want a diesel truck.... errrr suv suv ini for pinoy nuthead, I would buy a sta. fe. Elsewise, I am happy with my true SUV and forget all together that those diesel truck or kuliglig are just those we use in the farm to haul palay fertilizer and seeds. Ok, praise, wash, and wax, our farm implements. But for us, a diesel is just a diesel meant for farm. Never a vehicle to drive in the grocery.
^HAHA butthurt
