PIMS 2014: Mazda Launches New 3 Speed Model and Equips Bose on Most of Line-Up

Known for its “zoom-zoom” driving fun, Mazda Philippines is adding yet another reason for buyers to consider getting a Mazda: Bose sound system. At The Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS), Berjaya Auto Philippines has announced that more local Mazda units will feature the Bose sound system as standard equipment. During the same event, the company also unveiled its new range-topping variant for the Mazda3: the Mazda3 Speed.

Audiophiles will be very happy to know that starting this month, Bose sound system (in varying number of speakers) will be available as standard equipment for the Mazda6 executive sedan and MX-5 roadster as well as selected models for the Mazda3 and CX-9. Already standard on the CX-5 AWD Sport and MX-5 25th Anniversary Edition model, the Bose sound system will now be available on the newly launched Mazda3 Speed, and CX-9 Grand Touring AWD. To make Mazda Philippines’s partnership even more enticing, each purchase of Bose-equipped vehicles will come with a 20 percent discount voucher on Bose products through Philippine distributor Eleksis Marketing Corporation.

And before you ask, you cannot equip the Bose sound system to existing Mazda models because the Bose-equipped vehicles have a specific wiring harness.

At PIMS, Mazda Philippines also unveiled their newest range-topping Mazda3 model: the Mazda3 Speed. Aside from having the Bose sound system as standard equipment, this particular Mazda3 features off-white leather seats, powered driver’s seat, and a DVD entertainment system. Outside, the Mazda3 Speed is distinguished with its high-gloss black 18-inch alloy rims, black side mirrors, and a wrap-around Mazdaspeed aerodynamic kit. The Mazda3 Speed is available solely in a 5-door hatchback powered by the powerful yet efficient 2.0-liter Skyactiv 4-cylinder engine. The Mazda3 Speed is available in a limited palette of colors: Snowflake White and Soul Red.

Pricing for the new Bose-equipped sound system is as follows:
  • Mazda3 Speed – P 1,298,000
  • Mazda3 Speed (Soul Red) – P 1,314,800
  • Mazda6 – P 1,745,000
  • Mazda6 (Soul Red) – P 1,761,800
  • Mazda CX-5 2.5 AWD – P 1,685,000

  4. Hi Ulysses,
What do u think of the mazda3 speed? Is it nice? Is it overpriced? Or the price is just right based on the upgrades? Also my friend told me only 6 units will be sold this year. Hence limited edition. Is this true?

    1. It depends on one's preference but for me the soul red with black rims are a mismatch. Original silver colored rims were much better in my opinion. Also the interior leather color is white which means it will get dirty quickly. Better stick with the regular mazda 3 2.0L.

    1. Civic obviously. I wish there really was an option to remove that damn mugen bodykits. The current civic is so highly underrated, its a good car overall.

  8. Saw this one last Sunday. Ganda sobra! I was able to test drive the 2 liter version. And I am very satisfied with the handling and power. Just wondering why most reviewers said that the Mazda 3 has a cramped backseat. I actually find it more spacious than my current FD. Hopefully before Christmas, you will be in my garage already. Ipon mode muna tayo.
