Subaru Palm Challenge 2014 Crowns Cebu Winner, Last Stop is Manila
Motor Image Pilipinas (MIP), the authorized distributor of Subaru in the Philippines has identified the second member of the Philippine Team through the 2014 Subaru Palm Challenge Philippine Face-Off Cebu Leg. Now going on its sixth year in the Philippines, its second year as a national search, the contest aims to find 10 mentally and physically strong challengers, from across the country, to represent the Philippines at the MediaCorp Subaru Challenge in Singapore this November 2014. There, they will go head-to-head with challengers from around Asia such as Singapore, Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.
With 120 hopeful participants, the second leg of the Subaru Palm Challenge Philippine Face-Off was held at Ayala Center Cebu last Saturday, September 13. Last year’s Cebu winner, Joberth Estrera, who posted a time of 10 hours 40 minutes and 19 seconds joined again this year together with several other challengers who aim to outlast all other participants for a chance to win a brand new Subaru.
The winner for this year’s Cebu leg is Mr. Donn Michael Yap, a 24-year old call-center agent, who endured the different challenges throughout the day attained a total time of 12 hours 51 minutes and 10 seconds; a new record for the Cebu leg. He will be joining the winner from Davao and 8 other challengers from Manila to represent the Philippines in Singapore.
This year’s 2014 Subaru Palm Challenge Philippine Face-off prizes include exclusive Subaru merchandise and Php 5,000 for the top 9 challengers and Php 15,000 for the leg winner. Aside from this, should the last man standing from the MediaCorp Subaru Challenge come from the Philippines, their grand prize is a brand new Subaru XV 2.0i worth Php 1,298,000.
8 more slots from the 10-man roster of the Philippine Team are yet to be filled in Manila on September 27, 2014 at Bonifacio High Street. Registration is still open for interested participants. They may choose to download their forms from www.motorimage.net/PH or grab a copy of the registration form and submit these at the following Subaru showrooms – Greenhills, Bonifacio Global City, Manila Bay, Alabang and Batangas.
