Who says having a family ends your dream of buying a muscle car? Well, it may not sport a two-door body, but the new 2015 Explorer Sport sure does come close in giving you muscle car performance wrapped in a very practical body. Alongside the Ford Escape, Ford Philippines unveiled the latest addition to their Explorer family, one that adds EcoBoost technology to the already potent 3.5-liter V6 engine.
Nestled under the Explorer Sport is an EcoBoost twin-turbo V6 that gives a crazy 365-horsepower output at 5,500 rpm and 475 Nm of torque from as low as 3,000 rpm. All this power is transferred to a 6-speed automatic with steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters. The Explorer Sport features uncompromising all-weather grip with its all-wheel drive system complete with Terrain Management.
Aside from the extra grunt, the Explorer Sport features a more aggressive look thanks to 20-inch machined aluminum wheels, ‘Explorer’ badging on the hood, the signature three-bar grille, blackened mirrors, smoked head- and tail lamps. Inside, the Explorer Sport is distinguished by its Charcoal Black leather interior with contrasting inserts.
Other features of the Explorer Sport include power adjustable pedals, push button start, rear view camera, and a power folding third row. And like the 3.5 V6 Limited+ variant, the Explorer Sport also has two DVD headrests and a Sony Premium Audio System with 12 speakers.
In terms of safety, the Explorer Sport comes equipped with adaptive cruise control, terrain management, collision warning with brake support, speed controls, BLIS, and inflatable rear seatbelts.
The 2015 Explorer Sport joins the line-up at P 2,799,000. It’s now available for reservations at all Ford dealerships nationwide with deliveries starting in November.

DeleteFord's ecoboost engines have issues in the US. It delivers horsepower undoubtedly when needed, but the estimated fuel efficiency iisn't substantial either. Ford should focus on smaller crossover suv instead. Just my personal opinion.
