The Tata Big 7: Pilipinas Taj Introduces 7 New Eco-Diesel Models
Pilipinas Taj Autogroup, the exclusive distributor of Tata vehicles in the country recently launched not one, not two, but seven heavy-duty eco-diesel vehicles. These new additions to the Tata line-up come in many forms from diesel-fed passenger cars to pick-ups to mini trucks.
Launched at their Big 7 event, Pilipinas Taj unveiled the Tata Indigo Diesel sedan and Indica Diesel (a hatchback version of the Indigo) which are perfect for the budget-conscious fleet customer who don’t want to compromise on economy and comfort. Joining the Indigo and Indica are the Manza Aura Diesel sedan, the Vista Ignis Diesel, the Xenon XT pick-up in both 4x2 and 4x4 versions, the Super Ace “Big Boy”, and the Ace “Bata”.
The Indigo Diesel is Tata’s best-seller in India because of its cost- and fuel-efficiency. It also boasts of a spacious interior for its size and offers an all-around independent suspension for stable handling. The Indigo is powered by a 1.4-liter turbo diesel engine for smooth performance. The Indica offers the same amenities but in a sleeker hatchback profile. These two new models join the Manza Aura and Vista Ignis—both launched a couple of months ago.
Meanwhile, Tata is also getting into the mini truck market with the launch of the Super Ace and Ace. These are both dependable workhorses with multi-purpose bodies that can be customized for delivery or transport of various business needs.
The Ace “Bata” features a load capacity of 750 kilograms and can be specified with a jeepney-type body. It can traverse both smooth and rough terrain because of its generous ground clearance. The Ace comes with a 2-year, 36,000-kilometer warranty. The Super Ace “Big Boy” features a load capacity of one ton. As for the 2015 Xenon pick-up, the new XT model features a slightly revised engine for more output: 150 horsepower and more low-end torque (223 Nm).
