All-New Mazda CX-3 is the Urbanite's Crossover
Mazda used the Los Angeles Auto Show to unveil a new addition to its Skyactiv-equipped crossover range: the CX-3. The CX-3 will first launch in Japan in 2015 followed by the rest of the world soon thereafter. Mazda believes it will become a core product in their ever-expanding model range.
Based off the Mazda2, the CX-3 has been specifically developed with the urban environment in mind. It offers great maneuverability due to its compact size and yet, it offers the very same responsive driving feel that’s in the Mazda DNA.
Not much mechanical detail was given during the show, but Mazda has revealed that it will be powered by either a 1.5-liter Skyactiv-D clean diesel engine or a 2.0-liter Skyactiv-G gasoline engine. It will also be offered with all-wheel drive technology.
Aside from the mechanicals, the CX-3 is expected to carry a wide range of Mazda’s tech including Mazda Connect and i-ACTIVESENSE. Clearly, the Subaru XV (and maybe even the Ford EcoSport) is going to have a tough competition ahead.
Hi,ully do you know, if the cx3 is coming to philippines market by next year.or in the future? Or not
ReplyDeletebetter looking than the ecosport. Mazda's going all out with its menu of cars..
ReplyDeleteThat floating roof effect at the back looks familiar and hey, they're in the same category too. Hmmm... Did mazda also hired Peter Schreyer discreetly to do their car designs? Anyway, it really is a good looking mini CUV and I'm looking forward to see one of these in our streets. Wish I could have one. =P
ReplyDeleteMuch much better looking than the current competition. Are all Skyactivs have istop system? Those istops are kinda scary . Makes me wonder if it's reliable and durable enough to use for a long time.
ReplyDeleteI just hope they don't castrate it for the Philippine market by having the 1.5L engine as the only option.
ReplyDeleteGas, not diesel. I don't we'll ever get Skyactiv-D tech.
DeleteWe are less than 14 months away from launching Euro-4 as mandated by law. By the time this gets to our side of the ASEAN, it would even be closer to that date. Petron is already capable of producing Euro-4 fuels with the completion of RMP-2 in Bataan.
DeleteGood point. Should they release the CX-3 with, and update the 6 and CX-5 with diesel engines, then Mazda becomes a competitor stiffer than a congressman on a fling with his mistress.
DeleteA CX-3 with Skyactiv-D would annihilate the EcoSport even at a higher price point. A diesel CX-5 would make Hyundai and Kia crap their pants.
Oh yeah and a diesel Mazda 2 would be a good alternative to the Accent.
Deleteexterior design good looking but exterior look like ordinary cabin, its better ford ecosport, perfect design in and out.

ReplyDeleteFord Ecosport looks cheap and plasticky. This one's got it from the Mazda3, even more European than an Ecosport, with a diesel engine that will shame an Ecosport even in the 1.0 EcoBoost guise. Diesel torque is simply way better than any gasoline engine within the same range of displacement size/s.
DeleteThey are not from the same class so why compare?
DeleteWould it be realistic to say that we will see this model arrive at our shores well before the Honda HR-V?
ReplyDeleteHow much this in Ph?
ReplyDeleteThis will probably compete with the Mitsubishi ASX, Subaru XV and the yet to be announced Honda HRV. The ford ecosport is way smaller than this, they don't even belong in the same category so I really don't get why some of you are comparing it to this car.
ReplyDeleteI agree
DeleteThey are very much in the same category. The CX-3 is based on the Mazda 2 platform. Side by side, the difference in length is 3 centimeters. Width is the same, while the EcoSport is actually taller. The difference in wheelbase is 5 centimeters.
Deletethse 1.5 skyactive-d engine will be made in Malaysia, the contracts are signed. exporting to the. Philippines should be easy. BTW, that 1.5 gives out similar PS and NM as the 2.5 diesel on the Innova. Toyota will probably have to give the Innova the same VGT as the For tuner! Joy, joy!
ReplyDeleteHello Mr. Uly.. Does Mazda PH have any thoughts or ideas in releasing this CX-3 to our shores? If yes.. When? Coz the Ecosport is not that Fuel efficient in City Driving.. Hoping this will be a better choice.. Thank you sir.
