After being previewed in Malaysia last July, Motor Image Pilipinas, the authorized distributor of Subaru in the Philippines, has announced the arrival of the new Subaru XV STI Performance. It’s the newest addition to the Subaru XV line-up.
Based off the Subaru XV 2.0i-Premium, the Subaru XV STI Performance comes equipped with the same new-generation 2.0-liter FB20 Boxer 4-cylinder engine and Lineartronic CVT transmission. It also comes standard with leather seats, high-grade multi-function display with rear parking camera, dual-zone climate control, sunroof, and HID headlamps with washers. However, since it bares the STI Performance badge, it does receive some cosmetic enhancements such as the front under spoiler, daytime running lights, side under spoiler, rear roof spoiler, rear under spoiler, and the STI flexible tower bar.
Serving as the Subaru XV’s range-topping variant, the Subaru XV STI Performance retails for P 1,578,000 and is now available for viewing across all of Subaru’s dealerships nationwide.

Pfft. How ironic, they put the word STI Performance in the name yet there are no actual improvement over the standard subaru xv. How can you call this an STI when there's no turbo?! This doesn't deserve to have the STI badge.
ReplyDeleteStrongly agreed!
DeleteI agree.
DeleteVery Good point!!! Is It For Cosmetics only????
ReplyDeletethat's typical japanese marketing strategy..or maybe that's how they define "performance", like honda - mugen and toyota - TRD..i don't know about nissan's nismo..but the honda mugen and toyota TRD they're all show and no go..plus the so called STI of subaru..put the skirts and spoilers on and voila, you already have a poorformance version of the existing car..
ReplyDeleteBetter to buy the cheapest XV and install turbo and hi perf parts. Then you'll have the real STI.
ReplyDeleteThis car is crap!
ReplyDeletedeceptive. Gives wrong impression to the STi badge... a blasphemy to those hardcores in the know... to the un informed BEWARE.
ReplyDeleteone word, bollsiyeth
