SOLAR Transport and Automotive Resources Corp. (STAR Corp.), authorized distributor of BYD Auto China Ltd. Co., and Areza Motor Sales (AMS) signed a memorandum of understanding recently at the BYD Shaw showroom which will pave the way for the opening of a BYD dealership in Batangas.  This development will make the BYD brand well represented in the southwestern Luzon area as BYD Batangas provides support for sales, after-sales and spare parts and accessories to the growing number of BYD customers.

BYD Batangas will be the third dealership and the first provincial outlet of STAR CORP in the Philippines—the first is located along Shaw Boulevard, Mandaluyong and the second in North EDSA, Quezon City.

Soriano shared BYD’s plans to open six or seven more dealerships this year. He said, “Before the year ends, hopefully, we will be able to acquire six to seven dealerships in North Luzon, South Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao, while strengthening our presence here in Metro Manila.”

When asked for the significance of opening this new dealership in Batangas, Soriano said: “Not only can we offer our after sales services to customers in South Luzon areas, opening a new dealership is also a good indication of the people’s growing trust in the brand.”

Areza Motor Sales is part of the Areza Group of Companies—a major player in the automotive dealership industry in the southern edge of Metro Manila particularly in Cavite, Batangas, Quezon, Mindoro and Palawan. They are also the owner of A2Z Driving Academy established last 2002.
Located at Barangay Concepcion, Batangas City, BYD Batangas is currently conducting its soft opening.  Full scale operations will start by mid-February 2015.
