  1. I hoped that Subaru also releases the Outback in 2.5 Boxer Engine. We don't really need 3.6 engine for manila traffic. Sir Uly will the Legacy and Outback have EyeSight safety system in our country? And is the 3.6 of the Outback is a U.S model and not a Japan model? I believe that the 3.6 Boxer is only available in the U.S. market.

    1. The Outback hasn't been a huge seller for Subaru in the Philippines. Having two variants of a slow-seller doesn't make any sense. Plus, the 3.6R does qualify for JPEPA making it actually more affordable than the outgoing model. The 2.5 won't.

The Legacy now expands to two variants for two simple reasons: first, it's taping to the executive sedan market and since the best-sellers like the Camry and Accord offer both 4- and 6-cylinder models, it makes sense for Subaru to do the same. Second, the death of the wagon variant means they can opt to bring in an additional engine option.

As for EyeSight, talking with Subaru engineers before, it seems the Philippines isn't ready for this kind of technology yet given the chaotic driving conditions. However, FHI engineers have been closely looking at the possibility of launching it. It's just not available for the Philippine market versions of the Legacy and Outback.
