The i20 Cross Sport is built on Hyundai’s Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design ethos and packs both an elegant and sporty attitude. Among the exterior highlights include projector headlamps and a large front grille giving it a unique presence on the road. The headlamps also come with cornering lamps for better illumination, especially at night.
Packing a 170-mm ground clearance, it can perform better than most hatchbacks and sedans on rough, difficult surfaces. It comes with side moldings and claddings, and skid plates to give an extra layer of protection whenever traversing rough roads or even floods. A front airdam, two tone bumper, and available 16-inch alloy wheels complete the look. Functionally, the i20 can carry more load thanks to its standard roof rails.
Hyundai’s segment-bending vehicle comes with two engine choices: a 1.4-liter Kappa gasoline engine with a Variable Intake System (VIS) developing 100 horsepower and 133 Nm of torque and a 1.4-liter U2 CRDi diesel engine with 90 horsepower and 220 Nm of torque. These engines are mated to a 5-speed and 6-speed manual transmission respectively, with the automatic only available with the gasoline engine. In terms of chassis, the i20 Cross Sport offers stability offered by its Independent MacPherson Strut front suspension and rear Coupled Torsion Beam axle. It also has anti-lock brakes for optimal braking performance even in foul weather.
Hyundai’s value-oriented proposition continues in the interior where the i20 Cross Sport comes with a tilt/telescopic adjusting steering wheel with multi-function controls. It also has rear air conditioning vents as well as power folding door mirrors. The rear seats also fold in a 60/40 split-fold for better cargo carrying capacity. Finally, an available Smart Key with push-button engine start/stop makes fumbling for keys a thing of the past.
For buyers looking to combine the agility and manageable size of a hatchback or sedan with the security of a crossover should look at the i20 Cross Sport. It’s one vehicle that offers the best of all worlds, especially for those who live active lifestyles.
The all-new 2015 Hyundai i20 Cross Sport will be sold beginning middle of this year. More details will be available by then.
And again, another new Hyundai where the diesel variant is better equipped than the gasoline counterpart. This one looks like a Yaris ripoff.

ReplyDeleteThe 1.6 crdi 6MT is priced at 1,111,000; 1.4 gasoline 6MT at 858,000; 1.4 gas 4AT at 918,000 ----- overpriced for a raised subcompact hatch. Sayang maganda sana

Deletethe ground clearance not matching Ecosport, and with a stiff price, the i20cross might not really pull customers to its side from those who have been eyeing the Ecosport which is already out and ready and available, no more waiting time.

ReplyDeleteAgree @r2d2. 900k below is the leverage to make it head on to the Ford Ecosport. If Nissan Philippines can bring over a watered down variant of the Juke at 900k below, then it would be a slugfest.

Deletethe soul diesel engine has been luring me to its side. but i havent made a final decision. allegedly, the seating height has been designed for easy ingress. that is important to me since i have a hard time going in/out a toyota vios being too low. however, the best compact suv for me is still the mitsubishi three door pajero which is no longer in production. im still hoping a car maker will come up with something close to that pajero.

we didn't even know how they produce those cars,
how about the prices of raw material?
how about the increase of salary of the workers?
how about the cost of quality improvements? quality comes with a big expenses.
those electronics in the car are expensive, having all powered are expensive.
how about the some details of the cars? the cost of upholstery....etc.
how about the cost of other features, ex. some car has rain gauge sensor, is it needed? then it is another cost.
how about safety features, they can lower the cost if they will remove the air bag.
above are some of the consideration in the prices of the car, no one discuss about the comparison of car in their existing range of price.
what are the car models that range from 800k to 900k? then compare the specs, features, upholstery, engine and some other details....then you can decide which one is overprice and which one is best buy.
maganda sana ang discussion dito, yun nga lang ay maraming mga car fanatic na walang basehan ang mga sinasabi, siguro nga tama lang na i-justify nila kung bakit ovepriced ang isang kotse.

isa siguro sa pwedeng talagang overpriced ay yung honda jazz, nung inilabas ang mobilio, same price sila, e mas malaki ang mobilio, 7 seater, all power din naman, hindi naman nagkakalayo ang makina at same naman silang honda. ewan ko nga lang ang ibang features at specs, baka naman all leather ang jazz (i'm not sure) kaya mahal. ganito siguro nga yung magandang comparison para sabihin nating overprice ang isang kotse.
i'm eyeing for this one.

ReplyDeleteJust checked. There are three versions. The MT diesel 1.4 version is 1.048m, AT is 888k, and the MT gas is priced at 848k. The AT is priced the same way as the top-of-the-line Accent Sedan 1.4L, but lacks GPS. It definitely undercuts the competition like the Honda City VX variant which is currently priced at 898k.
