Breaking News: Mazda Reveals MX-5 Pricing for Philippines
We interrupt your regular Sunday internet browsing habit to bring you some breaking news: Berjaya Auto Philippines, the official distributor of Mazda vehicles in the country has finally revealed the pricing and variants of the 2016 Mazda MX-5 (ND).
After driving it in Barcelona some months back, more details have started to trickle in about the all-new ‘ND’ model.
In a meeting with the Miata Club just this morning, Steven Tan, President of Berjaya Auto Philippines says that the all-new MX-5 will have two variants: M/T and A/T—you can’t get any simpler than that. Both models will be powered by a 2.0-liter Skyactiv-G 4-cylinder engine with 155 horsepower. But wait: it gets even better.
In the same meeting, Mr. Tan says the 2.0 M/T model comes with a price tag of P 1,680,000 while the 2.0 A/T tops out at P 1,860,000. Why such the big price difference? Well, aside from having a two-pedal set-up, the A/T model is differentiated by at least, a 9-speaker Bose sound system and leather seats, the color of which is dependent on the exterior color. The two standout colors, Soul Red and Ceramic will have tan leather seats while the rest will have black leather seats.
With such aggressive pricing, it’s sufficient to say that the all-new MX-5 will give the likes of the Toyota 86 and Subaru BRZ a run for their money. It can even potentially steal sales from the Hyundai Genesis Coupe.
Miata lovers and car enthusiasts won’t have to wait long too. Customer deliveries start in August. We’ll have more information for you before then.
Now back to your regular scheduled browsing habit.

It's good to hear they're offering it in both M/T and A/T variants. Something I was looking for with the Mazda 3. Having such options is great news because not everyone likes A/T.
