Subaru Quietly Returns Impreza 2.0i-S to Philippine Market
Aside from offering free car wash at selected establishments over Father’s Day weekend, Subaru has another surprise for Subaru fans in the country: the return of the Impreza 2.0i-S to the line-up.
After its demise a year ago in favor of the cheaper but equally barer 2.0i, the 2015 Impreza 2.0i-S is back and sports more features at a slightly reduced price. You can tell the 2015 2.0i-S apart from its pre-facelifted brethren by its revised front-end that features a chrome accent just on top of its front fog lamps. Of course, the front bumper has been re-shaped for this. Other changes include a new mesh grille along with a lip-type rear spoiler. Of course, it still runs on 205/50R17 tires and comes with side skirts.
Inside, the 2015 Impreza 2.0i-S gets revised gauges with a LCD multi-information display sandwiched between the large speedometer and tachometer. It looks similar to the ones equipped in the WRX and STI although has a blue-and-white color scheme as opposed to the sportier model’s red and white scheme. Also new is the center-mounted multi-information display (again shared with the 2015 Forester/WRX/WRX STI) and a new touch screen audio system. The new touch screen audio system incorporates the display for the rear back-up camera. It also gets a push button engine start/stop and a passive keyless entry system. Like the previous 2.0i-S, the 2015 model gets automatic climate control as well as leather seats as standard equipment. It does lose the moonroof this time around.
The loss of the moonroof is reflected in its more affordable price point. From P 1,298,000, the 2015 Impreza 2.0i-S now retails for P 1,268,000 or a savings of P 30,000 from before. Of course, fans of the more affordable 2.0i can still available of it at P 1,128,000.
Does anyone care? And oh, carwash can be had for an equal value of a cup of coffee now a days... this really surprised me... I know Subaru can do better than this...
ReplyDeleteGood Job Subaru!
ReplyDeleteMore Images with Brochure please.
I care bears!
ReplyDeleteWe all care
ReplyDeleteAt least Subaru did something for their customers. It's the thought that counts.
ReplyDeleteEverybody cares! And yes although we agree that carwash fees are qual to a cup of coffee now a days, well you don't see a lot of brands exerting effort to make their clients feel special. So yes, everybody cares.
ReplyDeleteI know some Ford, Mitsu and Toyota service centers provide car wash service after every PMS, they don't wait for any occasion. Just a thought.
ReplyDeleteAs a Subaru owner, Subaru also does offer a free car wash after every PMS. I think their point here is that they offer a free car wash at the mall as an additional perk to Subaru ownership.

Delete^As I said, Motor Image can do better than this kind of publicity stunt... happy father's day!
ReplyDelete1,265,000m still... And no moonroof. Give me some reasons why I should choose this 2.0i-S over a Mazda 3 Speed Or even the Mazda 3 2.0R which comes 70k cheaper and got a sunroof. I want to hear more than the AWD argument...
ReplyDeleteBoxer Engine and rear camera.
DeleteAWD...lagyan mo ng AWD yang mazda mo.

Is this allowed here? This ad simply justifies this comment above: "Motor Image can do better than this kind of publicity stunt... "
DeleteI think the guy was talking about the amateurish offer of carwash.......... The peeps at Motor Image (not Subaru) seem to always find a way to lower company's prestige..........
This is currently tolerated, but if it's already considered abusive spamming, it's removed. Same with any sales agent for any brand.
DeleteCorrection for this. It does have moon roof.
ReplyDeleteHi Ulysses, would you make another review of the 2015 Impreza as others say that it has imrpvoed in terms of fuel economy and interior. Thanks.
