BMW Philippines Officially Launches the All-New X6
After showing it off at its Father’s Day activity last month, BMW is formally introducing its next-generation X6 Sports Activity Coupe for everyone to gush after. As the most controversial yet head-turning member of the X family, the BMW X6 aims to strengthen its position as the symbol of exclusivity and power. And now, it aims to raise the bar when it comes to innovative luxury as well.
Like the first-generation X6, this all-new model defies the conventions of design. Love-it-or-hate-it, the X6 is certainly for the extrovert with its muscular styling that connotes a man that’s already ready for action. Indeed, it’s so sporty that BMW calls the sole model available the Pure Extravagance—you can’t get a more fitting name than that.
Among the key features of the all-new X6 include sweeping chrome inserts in the front bumper’s X-shaped contours, the bi-xenon headlights with corona rings that connect to the double kidney grille, and the sharply drawn lines. At the back, the coupe-like stance is emphasized by the high-opening tailgate, flat rear apron, and three-dimensional L-shaped LED taillights. Unique to the Pure Extravagance model is a new exterior finish called Cerium Gray which is featured on areas like the mirror caps and underbody guard.
Inside, the X6 offers a luxurious yet personal sense of style. The high seating position, typical of the X models, is juxtaposed with premium materials and finishing. The highly intuitive instrument panel features the BMW Navigation System Professional as standard equipment complete with a 10.25-inch Control Display screen operated by the BMW iDrive system. The rear seats feature a 40/20/40 split-folding bench which allows the luggage compartment to grow from 580 liters to 1,525 liters—75 more liters than the previous model.
Under the hood is BMW’s TwinPower Turbo diesel engine with 258 horsepower and 560 Nm of torque from its 3.0-liter displacement. This inline-6 powerplant paves the way for a 0-100 km/h time of just 6.7 seconds. An eight-speed automatic transmission connects to the engine and is supplemented by BMW’s full suite of EfficientDynamics technology that improves fuel economy. This includes an intelligent all-wheel drive system.
The all-new BMW X6 comes with a long list of standard equipment including 20-inch alloy wheels, automatic tailgate operation, two-zone climate control, auto-dimming rear view mirror, and many more.
The ongoing evolution of BMW’s SAC concept has enabled the all-new BMW X6 to offer an even broader variety of qualities than its predecessor. These features come together not only to mark the distinctive style of the vehicle’s innovative character, but also to deliver a rare yet special kind of luxury for the progressive man.
The all-new 2015/16 BMW X6 Pure Extravagance retails for P 7,790,000.
