2015 Subaru Palm Challenge Team Now Complete; Set for Asian Face-Off in November


Motor Image Pilipinas has completed all three legs of its annual Palm Challenge with the conclusion of the Manila leg held last Saturday at the Bonifacio Global City. With that, the Philippine team composed of ten individuals, are set to compete at the Asian Face-Off in Singapore for a chance to win a brand-new Subaru Forester worth P 1,398,000.

There were 300 registrants for the Manila leg which was trimmed down to 200. A mix of young and old ranging from 18 to 69 years old took part in this test of physical and mental strength. In the end though, the last man standing in the Manila leg is seven-time winner Alex Neblasca who outlasted other participants with a time of 13 hours, 9 minutes, and 33 seconds.

He, along with the Top 8 winners from Manila join the regional winners from Cebu and Davao, make up the Philippine team which will compete in Singapore this November. The 2015 Subaru Palm Challenge Philippine team consists of:
  • Alex Neblasca (seven-time regional participant)
  • Juan Furiscal Jr.
  • Francisco Gomez 
  • Alec Ebuen
  • Juntie Torres
  • Dan Angelo Villacorza
  • Oshwald John Carbonell
  • Marcus Leui Pagcaliwangan
  • Donn Michael Yap (two-time Cebu leg champion)
  • Gilber Hamo-ay
Of the Top Ten winners of the Manila leg, nine winners were able to bring home P 10,000 each and exclusive Subaru merchandise; while the last man standing, Alex Neblasca won P 20,000 cash prize and  exclusive Subaru merchandise. Neblasca also had the longest time among all leg winners which gives him the privilege to bring a plus one in the Singapore regional challenge.

The Philippine team will compete this November in Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza, Singapore against challengers from around Asia such as Singapore, Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam.
