DENR Certifies Entire Honda Line-Up as EURO-4 Compliant
Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) proudly announces that its automobiles are now EURO 4 certified. Initially having obtained the certification for its locally-manufactured City; HCPI has also secured EURO 4 certification for the following vehicle models: Brio, Brio Amaze, Mobilio, CR-V, Civic, Jazz, HR-V, Accord, Odyssey, and CR-Z. As early as June 2015, HCPI has actively sought, and obtained EURO 4 emission standard certification from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) for its entire vehicle line up.
To significantly reduce the amount of pollutants released to the environment and to ensure the quality of breathable air; vehicles released to the market must be EURO 4 emission standard compliant by January 2016. This is in accordance with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources Administrative Order (DAO) No. 2015-04.
As early as 2004, HCPI started introducing EURO 4-ready products in the Philippine market. By the end of 2006, all HCPI automobiles sold in the Philippines were already at EURO 4 emission level.
It has always been one of HCPI’s thrusts to leave blue skies for children, which is why Honda produces products that are safer for the environment and for its users. “We would like to assure our customers that Honda takes proactive actions to help contribute in reducing the destruction of our ozone layer and the effect of global warming,” says HCPI President and General Manager Toshio Kuwahara. HCPI’s EURO 4 compliance is a testament to Honda’s continuing efforts in striving for a cleaner and greener environment.
To this end, Mr. Kuwahara emphasizes, “When you buy a Honda car, you have nothing to worry about.” Since Honda automobiles currently sold in the market are already EURO 4 certified, customers can purchase any Honda product with confidence and assurance. Customers need not concern themselves about the government issuance of this order come January 2016. Moreover, Customers can be certain that they are doing their part in minimizing the harmful pollutants that are released to the environment.”
Just curious though, what would happen to recently purchased vehicles that aren't Euro IV compliant. Or cars which are only de-tuned to Euro II? Possible kaya magkaroon ng conversion kits to achieve higher emission standards?
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, conversion kits cannot improve the exhaust emission level of a vehicle. If it is a Euro-2 compliant vehicle, then it'll just be evaluated (during registration renewal) under Euro-2 emission standards, not Euro-4.
ReplyDeleteStrange, my 2009 honda city 1.5L says its Euro III according to the sticker placed inside the engine bay. This article says all honda cars are euro IV since 2006. So my question is what is really the emission standard if my honda, is it euro III or IV?
ReplyDeleteI asked HCPI about this very same thing.
DeleteAccording to them, the sticker, which indicates Euro III means their cars exceed the Euro III standard which was mandated at the time by the Thai government. They assure everyone however, that their cars are all now Euro IV compliant.

ReplyDeleteGuys my hall new hrv is euro 3 and it is stated under my hood. Where can i bring my car to test if its really euro 4. Because hondaphil told me its euro 4 even it says under the hood of my car that its euro 3. False advertisement. Im still disputing this discrepancy from the company. I got the unit last july -aug 2015. Anyone who owns hrv 2nd gen. Pls check the sticker in your hood if its euro 4. We need to dispute this..
ReplyDeleteWe already asked Honda Cars Philippines regarding this. The sticker under the HR-V's hood SD well as any model made in Thailand effects Euro 3 because of government mandated labeling there. It means it meets or exceeds Euro 3 standards.
DeleteHonda Cars Philippines says that all their products sold in the Philippines, be it CBU Japan, Thailand, North America or made at their Santa Rosa plant meet the Philippine government's mandate to have Euro 4 emissions levels.
