Pilipinas Taj Autogroup, Inc., the official distributor of Tata Vehicles in the country has announced the regularization of supply of its Super Ace Big Boy light-commercial truck. An integral part of Tata’s local line-up, the Super Ace is fast becoming an alternative to the ubiquitous Mitsubishi L300.

First launched in December last year, the Super Ace Big Boy is powered by a 1.4-liter Eco-Diesel 4-cylinder engine generating 70 horsepower at 4,500 rpm and 135 Nm of torque at 2,500 rpm. It’s mated to a 5-speed manual with synchromesh on all forward gears and a sliding mesh mechanism for the reverse gear.

Lower and narrower but longer than the Mitsubishi L300, the Tata Super Ace Big Boy has a maximum payload of 1,000 kilograms. A wide variety of body options are now available as well through Tata’s partnership with local body manufacturer, Centro.

The Tata Super Ace Big Boy starts at P 550,000 for the Cab & Chassis with a school service-ready variant with dual air conditioning reaching P 834,000.

  1. I saw another review in a different country with RP currency, Tata Super Ace is 25% cheaper than the Mitsu's L300.
