Will This Replace the Nissan Juke?

For all intents and purposes, you are looking at the Nissan Juke’s future replacement: meet the Kicks. Sounding like something only millenials could name, the Kicks isn’t a pair of sneakers. Instead, it’s an all-new small crossover designed for the global market. In fact, at its launch in Brazil, Nissan has confirmed that it will sell the Kicks in around 80 markets worldwide. Will the Philippines be a part of that? With left-hand drive assembly confirmed, that sounds very likely.

In terms of size, the Kicks is dimensionally bigger than the Juke, but smaller than the X-Trail. It features the usual Nissan design cues such as the V-Motion grille, boomerang head- and taillights, and the floating roof with a wrap-around visor look.

Inside, it promises best-in-class space, especially at the back, while laying out a sportily designed cabin with a flat-bottomed steering wheel and the Gliding Wing motif. It also boasts of a 7-inch full color infotainment system with smartphone connectivity while a 360-degree AroundView monitor and Moving Object Detection ensures of safety.

During the entire engineering process, Nissan engineers paid careful attention to give the Kicks excellent aerodynamic performance improving fuel efficiency and high-speed refinement while its crossover stance provides a high eye point for an empowering view of the road ahead.

No mention about powertrain has been mentioned yet, but more details about the Kicks will be revealed closer to its launch date. As of now though, that precious Juke of yours may be an “old Juke” by the time the end of 2016 hits.

Nissan Kicks Dimensions in millimeters (compared to Juke):
  • Length: 4,295 mm (4,135 mm)
  • Width: 1,760 mm (1,765 mm)
  • Height: 1,590 mm (1,580 mm)
  • Wheelbase: 2,610 mm (2,520 mm)

  2. Please let it be the replacement. Make the price cheaper though.

  3. Nissan USA and Europe will likely still get a newer Juke as it is their niche product for sporty and hip 'millenials'.

The Kicks is to directly compete with the HR-V, and C-HR in terms of product placement. The Juke is sportier, smaller, and more powerful than the three.

  4. It should. The Juke is a joke. It's ugly and too cramp.

  6. What about the Datsun Go Cross? I'd prefer that one. Should be much cheaper than the Kicks or the Juke.
