As Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI)’s only locally produced product, the City sub-compact sedan sees small changes since its launch in 2014 keeping up with the latest technology and innovation. Though this update doesn’t seem to change anything outside, inside, the VX and VX+ variants get an advanced new infotainment system.
Powered by Garmin, the City VX and VX+ models now feature a new Honda Audio Visual Navigation (AVN) system with the CUBE User Interface. This innovative interface is designed to maximize customer convenience during driving. The different functions are presented in a 3D cubic view on the AVN which can be controlled using gestures. The screen is also customizable allowing them to create shortcuts or change preferred theme colors.
Further promoting safe driving, the new Garmin-based AVN system comes equipped with voice commands. It also has smartphone connectivity either via Bluetooth or through a special Auto+ Smartphone App available to both Apple and Android users. Wi-Fi connection with wireless screen projection via MiraCast comes as an added bonus to some Android users (phone dependent).
Together with this new interface, the AVN system is beefed up with a full flat panel, capacitive touch screen, and a high-speed quad core processor.
The entry-level E variants aren’t left out in this update as well. Starting now, they’re also equipped with front fog lamps as standard equipment.
Despite the additional features, the 2016 Honda City’s pricing remains unchanged:

I use the AT as the generic term for any automated shifting car. It could be CVT, dual clutch or conventional AT.

And... I just bought my vx navi 2 weeks ago and they never offered me this... I don't know how annoyed I should be at this point. At least I got mine for the older price. Does this model have an HDMI input for Iphones? What sucks with the previous AVN is that they took that out and you can't mirror your iphone on the screen anymore. I'm wondering if the newer model is just eye-candy or does have better software upgrades. To be honest how does honda handle the software updates of their cars?

ReplyDeleteWhen you step on the brake pedal, it lights up indicating it is ready to be started up.
