Meet the Mitsubishi XM Concept, Now Green Lit for Production
Mitsubishi has released the first full photos of its new crossover MPV before its debut at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show. Called the XM Concept, it’s been green lit for production at the company’s new factory located in Bekasi Prefecture, Indonesia.
The XM Concept is unique in that it seamlessly fuses SUV-like styling with MPV-like functionality. It expresses all-terrain performance with its flared front and rear fenders and generous ground clearance. Upfront, it has Mitsubishi’s eye-catching Dynamic Shield front design concept that’s visually striking while adding protection to the occupants inside. Underneath, the XM Concept has integrated guards that add protection to vital components.
Inside, the XM Concept has three rows of seats that provide a roomy interior for seven while allowing for a variety of seat arrangements. A horizontal dashboard design meanwhile accentuates the width even more. It has a wide, elevated center console, high-contrast black/white interior scheme, and silver accents for a refined look.
A production version of the XM Concept will roll off the assembly line in Indonesia by October 2017. Mitsubishi Motors hasn’t commented if that will be slated as a global product or if it will be primarily for the Indonesian market.
Innova will be like the Crosswind compared to this. In fact this will cut into the SUVs market share including Montero itself, if this will
ReplyDeletego into production.
If Mitsubishi will fit a decent engine into this vehicle, even the CX5, FORESTRY, RAV4 & XTrail sales will be affected.
ReplyDeleteIt has even better design than its ugly mother 2016 Montero which has a very distasteful side and rear views!
Nice one from Mitsubishi !
Forester is a misnomer. In reality, this pricey vehicle has no capability going into the outdoor forest trails. I like its AWD drive train but sad to say this is mostly used in the city. Subaru should grow up and make midsize suvs to battle it out againts the likes of the Everest, Fort, Trailblazer, MuX and Montero. What is Subaru waiting for?

DeleteYes I sort of agree with you. The Forester does have the capability to go soft-roading like my mud paths and snow. But yes, these vehicles are being kept hostage in the city sadly. It would be kinda cool to see if Subaru could build an Suv. And they should also fix their after sales.
DeleteForrester > Colorado
DeleteLooks pretty fucking cool.
ReplyDeletemitsu..produce nyo na to sa lalong madaling panahon!!!
ReplyDeleteLooks like its gonna be expensive as well.
ReplyDeleteBuild the Datsun Go Cross already and bring it here.
Very nice, just dont name it Adventure
ReplyDeleteThe actual production model will probably have the body of an Adventure combined with the face of the current Montero Sport.
ReplyDeleteI think this is Mitsu's entry into the segment occupied by the likes of the Honda BRV and Hyundai Creta, both of which aren't available here. In terms of size, this should be like an elevated Honda Mobilio. Mitsu's not dumb enough (yet) to produce something that'll eat into the Montero sales.
