Subaru Palm Challenge 2016 Calls for Participants

Hold it. Keep it. Subaru’s unique physical challenge is back this 2016. The Subaru Palm Challenge: Philippine Face-Off is finding 10 representatives to carry the Philippine flag at the Subaru Challenge 2016 Asian Face-Off in Singapore.

Take part in one of three legs this year and you get the chance to win an all-expense paid trip to Singapore. Once there, you’ll find yourself facing off against other countries and if you’re tough enough, you can win a brand-new Subaru XV 2.0i.

The three legs slated this year is as follows:
  • August 14 – Bonifacio Global City, 9th Avenue (in front of Big Bear Oval)
  • September 3 – Ayala Center Cebu
  • September 24 – SM Lanang Premiere Davao City
The Subaru Palm Challenge is a unique endurance challenge first held in Singapore and is now held regionally across all markets where Subaru is distributed by Motor Image. The current record for the longest “hand on car” is held by Singaporean G Jaishanker with a time of 82 hours and 16 minutes.

Last year, amidst uncertain conditions, Vietnamese Nguyen Phuoc Huynh became the first non-Singaporean to win the grand prize with a total time of 77 hours and 58 minutes. Malaysian Tan Hong Sheng was the first runner-up.

Hundreds of participants are expected to join the three Philippine elimination legs. Similar to past years, several challenges await participants to test their heart, mind, and body. One winner from each of the provincial legs will join 8 other winners from the Manila leg in the regional finals in Singapore.

Aside from the Subaru XV 2.0i worth P 1,328,000, contestants will also have the chance to win cash prizes.

Interested participants must be 18 years old as of January 1, 2016 and must be in good physical condition. Contestants must also have a valid passport. The online application form can be found here or you can contact any authorized Subaru dealership nationwide.

  1. Good job Subaru. Im sure this game "Palm Challenge" will be included in the Olympics soon !

Just kidding by the way, can't you think of a better way or game to advertise your product? Rather than just see someone holding your car for several boring days?

    1. You are right. They could make a more meaningful advert like sponsoring some sports or truckfest. If they want endurance, have some kind of marathon or cycling or plant some trees. These are far more beneficial to the community than just touching metal for days which doesn't make sense at all.

  4. Chevy sponsors the Thailand's national football team. Besides it also sponsors various football events. In doing that, Chevrolet is much more responsible in promoting its cars by contributing to the sports development of the youth in that country.
