Honda is finding yet more creative ways to append consonants to the “-RV” suffix. Just today, the company has announced yet another addition to its growing global crossover family. Meet the Winsome Runabout Vehicle or W-RV for short.

Developed by Honda Brazil’s R&D, the WR-V is described as a “tough” and “urban” SUV design pretty much echoing everything else in this segment (it’s expected to go against the likes of the Nissan Kicks and the Ford EcoSport). It’s said to offer the perfect platform for those who have active lifestyles and who like excellent utility within a compact body size.

From the sketches, it looks like a raised Honda Jazz/Fit with the same signature hard crease running towards the body sides. At the same time, it gains the universal Honda crossover look with the large headlights and grille work.

For now, the W-RV is exclusively for the South American market beginning with Brazil (just like the Ford EcoSport before) because they don’t get the BR-V like the ASEAN market. It will be launched at the Sao Paulo International Motor Show on November 8.  But in case it’ll be launched for the ASEAN market, it’ll certainly look like Honda’s going to offer an extensive range of alphabet named crossovers: BR-V, CR-V, HR-V, and now, W-RV.
