ASEAN EV and Hybrid Vehicles Summit Showcases Latest Earth-Friendly Cars
The vehicles are expected to be the stars of the show at the forthcoming 1st ASEAN Electric and Hybrid Vehicles Summit at the World Trade Center today until tomorrow. Member companies of the Electric Vehicle Association of the Philippines (EVAP) will display their latest electric vehicles. The big boys from the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Inc. (CAMPI) on the other hand will showcase their latest state-of-the-art electric and hybrid vehicles that are expected to bring in the crowd.
EVAP and CAMPI are organizing this first-ever 1st ASEAN EV & Hybrid Summit with the Board of Investments (BOI) and Meralco. EVAP President Rommel Juan says that another highlight of the Summit is a free exhibit featuring the latest in EV and hybrid technology that is sweeping the ASEAN region. “Come see the latest technology from battery chargers and charging stations to electric motors to controllers to locally-produced EVs to hybrid cars and SUVs”.
Expected to be sure crowd drawers are those gleaming vehicles at the CAMPI booths where Nissan will be showcasing the compact Note and Leaf cars. Mitsubishi will bring in the i-MiEV car and the plug-in hybrid electric vehicle Outlander SUV PHEV. Toyota will put on display the popular Toyota Prius PHV plug-in hybrid car and the luxurious Lexus NX 300h.
In a statement, Juan expressed his gratitude to CAMPI for believing in EVAP’s advocacy of advancing electric and hybrid vehicle technology applications nationwide. “The CAMPI display of their latest electric and hybrid vehicles speaks volumes of the commitment that they have for our common cause”.
Juan reveals that those going to the Summit will have first taste of riding an EV as local EV companies PhUV Inc. and KEA Industrial Corporation will provide free rides on board EJeepneys and ETrikes going to and from the venue. “Summit visitors will be shuttled for free to and from Microtel Hotel, Mall of Asia and the World Trade Center. Enjoy the silent, smoke-free ride of the vehicle of the future”.
