Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Posts Record First Half Year Sales
Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corp. (MMPC) concluded the first half of 2017 with another record-breaking sales of 34,549 units, their highest first semester volume registered so far.
This sales volume posted 13.8 percent growth from 2016 volume of 30,372 units. The industry is also on a roll this year as the combined sales of Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI) and Truck Manufacturers Association (TMA) sold an accumulated volume of 196,164 units for a 15.7 percent growth which is also the highest recorded sales for the first half. With MMPC’s record-breaking sales, MMPC was able to capture 17.6 percent market share in the industry, which makes MMPC still the second strongest automotive brand in the industry.
During the first half, it is important to note that MMPC was also able to achieve its highest monthly retail sales in March with 6,822 units. Throughout the first semester, MMPC showed remarkable growth on most of the industry segment. On Passenger Car (PCar) segment, a total volume of 9,896 units were sold, securing 16.4 percent market share in the PCar segment. With the start of local production of Mirage and Mirage G4 in the first semester of 2017, MMPC is looking forward for an increase in supply to accommodate the growing demand for these models.
Meanwhile, Mitsubishi Light Commercial Vehicles (LCV) volume increased by 21.5 percent with a total first semester sales of 23,601 units. Because of the aggressive promotions and competitive financing schemes offered, Montero Sport sales is definitely getting stronger along with the sales of the ever-reliable Adventure and L300. These two locally manufactured models continue to be the top choice among Filipino families and small entrepreneurs. Fuso Truck and Bus sales also posted notable growth of 21.5 percent with 1,052 units.
With an exceptional outset for the second semester of 2017 and future plans for further reinforcing its extensive product line-up, MMPC is looking forward to a continuous surge in sales for the rest of the year. MMPC is set to attain its 75,000-unit target by the end of the year. With its current sales performance and the anticipation of higher demand for vehicles on the second semester, MMPC is certain to hit business objectives.
Aside from its goal in attaining higher sales, MMPC is also focusing on further strengthening its customer service to provide the highest satisfaction to all valued customers.
