Dyson Throws Hat in Electric Vehicle Race
Dyson is working on an electric car. This was revealed to employees of the Dyson company in an email sent by no less than the founder himself, Jim Dyson. The famed industrial designer more known for creating a bagless vacuum cleaner revealed an ambitious 2020 release date.
Currently at its infancy stage, Dyson is accelerating the development of its EV offering. Though details remain scarce (Dyson plans to keep specifics confidential due to the fierce nature of the automotive industry), he did mention that the company is investing some £ 2 billion (P 136 billion) towards this endeavor. In addition, Dyson will be recruiting more people to add to its current 400-strong workforce.
“We’ve started building an exceptional team that combines top Dyson engineers with talented
individuals from the automotive industry,” Dyson mentioned in his message. “It is our obligation to offer a solution to the world’s largest single environmental risk,” he concluded.
