Mopar Unleashes 707-Horsepower HEMI V8 as Aftermarket Crate Motor
After Honda unveiled that they’re making available the Civic Type R’s engine as a crate engine, Mopar is doing the same with its Mopar 6.2-liter supercharged HEMI V8. Dubbed the Hellcrate, this specialty engine boasts of a mind-blowing 770 horsepower and 880 Nm from the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon. Unlike the Demon, its power figures come unlocked straight out of the factory.
The Mopar “Hellcrate” HEMI Engine is available for US$ 19,530 (~ P 1,008,000) (Part Number 68303089AA). An engine kit complete with powertrain control module (PCM), power distribution center, engine wiring harness, chassis harness, accelerator pedal, ground jumper, oxygen sensors, charge air temperature sensors, and fuel pump control module makes the installation plug-and-play. This retails for US$ 2,195 (~ P 113,000) (Part Number Part Number 77072452AB).
Even pre-1976 muscle car owners aren’t left out. Mopar is selling an essential Front End Accessory Drive (FEAD) Kit, which includes additional engine accessory hardware components needed to install the Mopar Hellcrate HEMI engine. The FEAD Kit includes an alternator, power steering pump, belts, pulleys, and more.
