Subaru Ends Production of Generators, General Purpose Engines
Subaru Corporation will be concentrating on cars. That’s the message the Japanese company is sending after they announced that they are ending the production, sale, and repair of general purpose engines and generators after 60 years.
In a statement, Subaru says that their decision to end the production of general purpose engines and generators is driven by the need to realize a sustainable growth in the future. The company said that by terminating its industrial equipment business, they can more effectively utilize management resources to strengthen its competitiveness in the automobile business which has now become their priority.
Regarding aftersales service for its general purpose engines and generators, Subaru Corporation will pass it on to an affiliate company Industrial Equipment Co. Ltd.
