First Batch of Honda Civic Type Rs Have Been Turned Over
The King of the ‘Ring is finally in the hands of their owners. After months of waiting for their units to arrive and be prepped for release, the first batch of Civic Type Rs has finally been turned over.
Christmas came early for 7 lucky individuals who were invited by the Ayala-owned Honda Cars Makati, Inc. (HCMI) group for a simple turnover ceremony at its branch in Manila Bay. The 7 owners are representative of the group’s branches located in Makati (Magallanes and Greenbelt), Pasig, Alabang, Shaw, Global City, and of course, Manila Bay.
Mr. Arthur Tan, Chairman and CEO of Honda Cars Makati, Inc. led the turnover ceremonies. Joining him were Mr. Manny Aligada, President and CEO of Honda Cars Makati, Inc., and Mr. Leo Dolendo, Branch Manager of Honda Cars Manila Bay and Functional Director for After Sales. Honda Cars Philippines President and General Manager, Mr. Noriyuki Takakura was the guest of honor.
In his short welcoming speech, Mr. Tan expressed his delight at Honda Cars Philippines’s decision to bring in the legendary Civic Type R into the country. He also assured all the customers of the Civic Type R that their cars will be treated with the utmost care.
Mr. Tan is now a Civic Type R owner himself.
Despite its limited run, Mr. Takakura echoed Mr. Tan’s statements. He said that Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) has taken the same stringent steps to make sure the aftersales experience remains worry-free. Aside from providing the necessary parts and accessories support, Mr. Takakura said that all authorized Honda dealerships in the country have received training to properly service the Civic Type R.
During the turnover ceremony, each owner received a personalized plaque as well as a customized all-weather car cover for their vehicle.
HCPI says that this unique and personalized turnover is just one of the many ways the company plans to make its Civic Type R owners feel special. Other activities planned in the pipeline include an exclusive track day.
