Honda Cars Philippines Unveils Refreshed 2018 Odyssey
Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI), introduces a refreshed Odyssey premium MPV for 2018. Featuring a tweaked exterior styling and added convenience features, it aims to further satisfy the Filipino customer’s needs for luxurious and comfortable mobility.
Launched at the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show, the 2018 Odyssey brings in improved levels of refinement for both the EX-V Navi and EX variants with enhanced exterior features and interior comforts.
The New Odyssey EX-V Navi variant comes with a redesigned exterior, particularly a new front grille finished in Dark Chrome, and sportier front bumper with LED Fog lights. The door handles are also finished in Dark Chrome while smoked LED Guide-Type tail lamps complement the updated styling of the Odyssey EX-V Navi variant.
On the other hand, the entry-level Odyssey EX now adopts the sporty Aero exterior styling. This includes a new front and rear bumper design, halogen fog lights as well as a Platinum front grille. Completing the new look of the New Odyssey are the redesigned 16 inch and 17 inch alloy wheels for the EX and EX-V Navi variants respectively.
Inside, both variants of the New Odyssey retain its flexible and elegant interior. The EX-V Navi variant, with its customizable 7-seater capacity (2-2-3) layout and full leather interior now also receives additional updates such as new black wood and silver trim panels and a new large armrest with center console for added storage which can be found in first row. The familiar Captain Cradle Seats with ottoman and holders can be found in its second row which allows for a more comfortable and personalized second row seating.
On the other hand, an 8-seater capacity (2-3-3) layout with soft fabric seats is also available with the EX variant which integrates a 60/40 split bench seat that can accommodate 3 passengers comfortably on the second row.
Like before, both variants of the 2018 Odyssey are equipped with Magic Seats that can accommodate passengers as well as additional cargo with its three-way split reclining structure, allowing the portions of the seats to be individually folded, reclined, or stowed under the floor to provide more cargo room and flexibility.
In terms of convenience features, both the EX-V Navi and EX variants now come standard with a Smart Entry with Push Start System which was previously available exclusively for the EX-V Navi. A 7-inch Touch Screen Display Audio System with Bluetooth is standard with the EX-V Navi receiving GPS navigation. The EX-V Navi also gets a rear entertainment system with DVD and HDMI playback through its 9-inch LCD screen.
The 2018 Odyssey is equipped with a variety of class leading safety features for both variants. Features such as 6 airbags (dual front airbags, front driver and passenger side airbags and side curtain airbags), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA), Hill Start Assist (HSA), Speed Sensing Auto Door Locks and Multi-View Reverse Camera all come in standard for both variants of the New Odyssey. The EX-V variant ups this with a Multi-View Camera System, Blind Spot Information (BSI), Cross Traffic Monitor (CTM) as well as an improved Smart Parking Assist System with Parking Sensors, which combine to further help improve maneuverability whenever pulling out from tight spaces.
Mechanically, the Odyssey is unchanged. It comes with the 2.4-liter DOHC i-VTEC engine featuring Honda Earth Dreams Technology. Overall power is 175 horsepower at 6,200 rpm while maximum torque is at 225 Nm at 4,000 rpm. This engine is mated to a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) with Paddle Shifters. Other drivetrain features of the New Odyssey are Honda’s Eco Assist System, which consists of the ECON mode and Eco-Coaching Ambient Light and the Idle-Stop System helps encourage fuel-efficient driving.
Though it remains unchanged in terms of drivetrain, the 2018 Odyssey does offer improved NVH for a smoother, more comfortable ride.
The new Odyssey is now available at all Honda Car dealerships nationwide in four colors: Platinum White Pearl, Premium Twinkle Black Pearl (EX-V only), Super Platinum Metallic, and Crystal Black Pearl (EX only). The 2018 price is P 2,449,000 for the EX-V Navi (Platinum White Pearl and Premium Twinkle Black Pearl adds P 20,000) while the EX is P 2,039,000.
So the base EX now inherits last year's EX navi's body kit?
ReplyDeleteIn comfort and style the Odyssey had it. Wish I could say the same in gas mileage.
