MMDA Reminds Motorists: Number Coding is Implemented During ASEAN Summit
Hey, People of Metro Manila! Enjoy the long holidays? Great. Well, just make sure to remember that if you plan to go out anytime from tomorrow, Monday, November 13 to Wednesday, November 15, the UVVRP or the United Vehicular Volume Reduction Scheme (Number Coding) is IMPLEMENTED.
Despite Metro Manila workers enjoying an extremely long holiday, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority or MMDA issued a tweet reminding the public that the Number Coding scheme is in effect during the duration of the ASEAN Summit.
Under this scheme, vehicles with Plate Numbers or Conduction Stickers ending in particular numbers are banned from using 23 major thoroughfares from 7:00 AM (0700) to 8:00 PM (2000). This means that 1 and 2 are banned on Monday; 3 and 4 on Tuesday; and 5 and 6 on Wednesday.
These roads are: EDSA, C5, Recto Avenue, Quirino Avenue, Araneta Avenue, C6, Roxas Boulevard, SLEX, Shaw Boulevard, Ortigas Avenue, Magsaysay Boulevard, Aurora Boulevard, Quezon Avenue, Commonwealth Avenue, A. Bonifacio Avenue, Rizal Avenue, Del Pan, Marcos Highway, McArthur Highway, Alabang-Zapote Road (Muntinlupa), Samson Road (Caloocan), and A. Mabini Street (Caloocan).
With the partial closure of EDSA also in effect, it’s highly suggested that you just stay home if you don’t need to go out.
