President Duterte Welcomes Delivery of Mitsubishi Montero Sport Units in Davao
Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) has announced the delivery of 26 new Mitsubishi Montero Sport units to the Davao City Police last week.
The delivery of the new vehicles has been marked by a ceremony at the Regional Crime Laboratory Office 11, attended by Philippine President, Rodrigo Roa Duterte, Japanese Ambassador to the Philippines, Mr. Koji Haneda and Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Police Director General, Ronald Dela Rosa.
The vehicles are being supplied as part of an agreement between Japan International Cooperation System (JICS) and Sojitz Corporation under Japan’s Grant Aid program. This aims to contribute to the safety and socioeconomic development in the Philippines, through the provision of local and public counter-terrorism and safety-related equipment.
“As one of the leading car manufacturers in the country, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation is committed to contributing to the Philippines’ socioeconomic development at the same time as promoting public safety. Ambitions which the Montero Sport is uniquely placed to help achieve,” said Mutsuhiro Oshikiri, MMPC President and CEO. “We are delighted that the Mitsubishi Montero Sport has been chosen by the Philippine National Police to support its ongoing work to serve and protect communities across the Philippines. We remain confident that it will deliver superior driving performance, safety and durability to match the demands confronting Philippine law enforcement,” he added.
In November 2017, 40 new units of Mitsubishi Montero Sport were also turned over to the Philippine National Police Headquarters in Camp Crame.
