Completing its new vehicle lineup for the year, Peugeot Philippines is launching the all-new Peugeot Traveller. Replacing the much-maligned Expert Tepee, the Traveller is made to look, feel, and drive like a premium MPV.
“The local MPV segment has become highly competitive in the past few years,” Glen Dasig, President of Peugeot Philippines explained. “This is due to the changing urban environment in the metro, as well as the evolving needs of Filipino families and mobile executives,” he added. With the all-new Peugeot Traveller Premium MPV, the brand continues its move upmarket by upgrading its MPV and shuttle range. “The all-new Peugeot Traveller is our invitation to premium travel and comfort in this promising segment,” Dasig said.
Featuring a modern and sophisticated exterior, the all-new Peugeot Traveller now possesses the brand’s distinctive design elements found in its new generation of SUVs and sedans. An elevated vertical grille with trapezoidal chrome edging underscores the vehicle’s bold front, while streamlined side panels structured by sharp lines and smooth wheel arches add to the vehicle’s urban style. Proportions are harmonious all throughout the vehicle as well. The compact overhangs and 17-inch alloy wheels give the vehicle a powerful and confident presence. Sleek lines enhance its aerodynamic flow, while the high window line contributes to its modern profile. This premium feel is further complemented by the hands-free motorized sliding doors inviting its passengers to enter a luxurious cabin.
Inside, it boasts of wide open spaces, a highly modular seating configuration, various storage options, and a relaxing ambiance for seven passengers. All rows of seating have adjustable pitches, making ample legroom available to all. The second and third rows can be arranged to face each other as well, creating a lounge set-up complete with captain seats and a retractable sliding table. The vehicle’s tri-zone climate control with soft diffusion function ensures equal and consistent circulation of air while two concealable glass roof panels provide an airy ambiance to the cabin. Both 12V and 220V sockets, as well as USB ports, are available to all passengers, providing easy access to mobile connectivity.
The same comfort also extends to driving this all-new MPV. Its new platform, adapted from the Efficient Modular Platform 2 (EMP2), provides a light and compact frame without sacrificing space. It shares its platform with the 3008 SUV and even with the 308 Hatchback and Station Wagon equating to a lighter, nimbler, more maneuverable feel than its predecessor.
Powering the Peugeot Traveller is a 2.0-liter BlueHDI diesel engine. Shared with the recently launched 3008 diesel variant, it has 150 horsepower and 370 Nm of torque. This is mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission featuring a unique Quickshift interface which allows drivers to select gears with the turn of a knob.
With its modern exterior, impressive cabin space, premium amenities, and outstanding fuel efficiency, the all-new Peugeot Traveller Premium MPV is set to raise the standard in premium mobility. Deliveries of the all-new Peugeot Traveller Premium MPV begins within the month at the suggested retail price of P 3,390,000.
