Volvo Philippines Introduces New XC90 Variant
Volvo Philippines is introducing a new variant of their award-winning XC90: the XC90 D4. Designed for a demanding audience, the XC90 wraps Scandinavian design and intelligent technology in one luxurious package.
The XC90 D4 is powered by Volvo’s Drive-E powertrain. Displacing 2.0 liters, it generates 190 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque thanks to twin turbos and i-ART direct injection. Mated to it is an 8-speed automatic.
Pioneering Volvo’s new design language, it puts Scandinavian design and heritage front and center. It features the Volvo Iron Mark front and center of the new grille along with “Thor’s Hammer” LED headlights. Inside, the airy and welcoming cabin provides a calming and balanced atmosphere using a blend of high-end materials such as wood, metal, and leather.
Connectivity in the XC90 D4 is delivered by the Volvo Sensus system. The large portrait-oriented touchscreen combines vehicle functions such as in-car entertainment, access to apps, and vehicle settings.
Volvo’s leadership in the field of automotive safety is confirmed in the XC90 too. Volvo’s City Safety Technology, standard on all Volvo models, combines automatic breaking functionality and collision avoidance systems to cover a range of potential accident scenarios and help keep you safe.
City Safety’s functionality is further extended in the XC90 with Large Animal Detection, designed to help avoid or mitigate collisions with large animals such as moose. An auto-steer functionality that helps to keep the car on the road, called Run Off Road Mitigation, has also been added.
Volvo’s overall safety offering, called IntelliSafe, encompasses both active and passive safety systems and forms the groundwork for Volvo’s leadership in the field of autonomous drive. The XC90 already offers semi-autonomous drive with Pilot Assist, which works up to 130 km/h on clearly marked roads.
The 2018 XC90 D4 is now available at all five Volvo dealerships nationwide with a Suggested Retail Price of P 5,595,000.
