Alfa Romeo Philippines? Not So Fast Says FCA

After we broke the news about Alfa Romeo’s return to the Philippine market, it seemed too good to be true. And it is. A spokesperson from FCA, the parent company of Alfa Romeo sent us this official statement:

“Fiat Chrysler Automobiles has not established a formal distribution partner for the Alfa Romeo, Fiat and Abarth brands in the Philippines.”
Short, sweet, and to the point which makes this news sadder.

So what about Petromax Enterprises, the company which will supposedly put up an Alfa Romeo showroom along Ortigas Avenue, the same company already selling Abarth models at a pop-up store in Solaire Resort & Casino in Pasay City? Well, they could very well just be a re-seller. It’s the same situation when it comes to aftersales service and warranty: Petromax Enterprises may give their own warranty and aftersales service support, but these are done with no blessing from FCA.

While FCA doesn’t discount that several companies may have approached  them to possibly set up a distributorship agreement for Alfa Romeo, Fiat, and Abarth in the Philippines, they haven’t made any decision yet.
